Mickey Oh has been named the Ladbrokes Horse of the Year at the annual awards and Hall of Fame dinner at the Country Club Casino in Launceston on Friday night.
The winner of the Hobart and Devonport Pacing Cups, plus a third place in the Group 1 Tasmania Cup, he also won the Vizpix Tasmanian 4YO & Older Horse or Gelding of the Year prize.
In other awards, Snowiewillrev was named the Medical Edge 2YO Colt or Gelding of the Year, Barbary Tales the TTC 2YO Filly of the Year Award, Swiatek Leis the Launceston Pacing Club 3YO Filly of the Year Award and Custom Harley the Cor Comms 3YO Colt or Gelding of the Year.
Payray was inducted into the Hall of Fame. A winner of 29 races from 33 starts in the 1950s, the ill-fated pacer was favourite for the Hunter Cup in 1952, when he was found poisoned, along with his younger brother, Herbra.
Sparkling won the Faithful Park Broodmare of the Year Award. Stepping Stones was the BHRC Mare of the Year Award.
The Edgar Tatlow Medal was awarded to Barrie Rattray and Heath Woods won the Beautide Medal.
