Premiership leading trainer Wayne Yole dominated Friday’s Burnie program, training five winners, with his first winner, Soho Undertaker (pictured), recording a milestone result.

The win saw Yole become only the fifth Tasmanian harness trainer to record 100 winners in a season, joining Wayne Rattray, Barrie Rattray, Neville Webberley and Ben Yole to reach the number.

Yole, whose stable was well represented across the eight-race card, kicked off the meeting with his milestone win. Soho Undertaker led all the way to score in the Coastal Engineering And Belting Pace (2180m).

Driven by Nathan Ford, the $2 favourite dictated affairs and made the most of several runners being inconvenienced by a galloping runner on the final bend.

The Bettors Delight gelding proved too good late by 1.5m for Oravior ($9.50) and Major Ideal ($8.50) in a mile rate of 2:04.7s.

Other winners for the Yole stable included the Hannah Van Dongen-driven Modern Jive ($9), with Mark Yole driving the other three winners: Ranieri ($2.30 fav), Gottahaveahobbie ($3.70), and Whatta Good Reason ($2.60 fav).

The Craig Hayes-trained Ultimate Destiny ($1.30 fav) remains undefeated after two starts in the state, leading all the way for driver Gareth Rattray to take out the Red Glover Legal Mobile (2180m).

Bold Centurion ($6.50) won for father and son pair Brodie Davis. The Betterthancheddar gelding has now won eight races, four of which have been in Burnie, after leading all the way in the 2500m Statewide Linemarking (Tas) Pace.

Earlier in the program, the Rohan Hillier-trained and driven mare Flo Jo Carvalho ($3.50) bounced back into the winners stall when leading all the way in the Ladbrokes Racing Club Pace (2180m).

The five-year-old mare has been lightly raced, with Friday’s start only her twelfth race track appearance. The win took premiership-leading driver Rohan Hillier’s season total to 76 wins.
