Lockdown Orders - Bayside, Strathfield and Burwood Local Government Areas (LGA’s) and Australian Capital Territory (ACT).

Following the lockdown orders imposed by the NSW Government in relation to the Bayside, Strathfield and Burwood (LGA’s) and the lockdown imposed in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), HRNSW advises the following:

The NSW Government Health Order allows licensed participants living in the LGA’s to attend to their horses on animal welfare grounds, which includes the feeding and exercising of horses.

Accordingly, licensed participants who reside in any of those LGA’s and the ACT may continue to attend their registered stable location, even if located outside of those LGA’s or the ACT, on animal welfare grounds, on the condition that they provide HRNSW with the result of a negative COVID test every 3 days.

In addition, it should be noted that licensed participants who reside in any of those LGA’s are unable to attend any race meeting or trials. Licensed participants who reside in the ACT are unable to attend any race meetings or trials outside of the ACT.

Trainers who reside within any of the nominated LGA’s or the ACT, who have a registered stable location outside of the LGA’s or ACT may make application to HRNSW Stewards to nominate an authorised representative to transport and attend to their horses at a race meeting. Those applications should be made by 4pm on the day prior to the race meeting on the following Trainer’s Representative form.

Link to form.

The authorised representative nominated by a Trainer will only be approved if they reside outside of the nominated LGA’s or the ACT.

Any trainer wishing to make application or to make enquiries should contact HRNSW Stewards on 9722 6655.

Participants are reminded of Australian Harness Racing Rule 238:

AHRR 238 – A person shall not fail to comply with any order, direction or requirement of the Controlling Body or the Stewards relating to harness racing or the harness racing industry.

HRNSW management reminds all industry participants of the available industry support program.
