Following consultation with the Albion Park Harness Racing Club and industry members Racing Queensland advise of changes to the upcoming barrier trial schedule.
Monday standalone trials (except June 2) are removed from the schedule with the preference of the Club and industry members to hold race day trials Tuesday both between races and after the last race if necessary.
To ease the burden from Tuesday’s trainers are encouraged to seek trials at Albion Park Friday’s, Redcliffe Wednesday and Thursday or Marburg on Sunday as there is no guarantee all trial horses nominated will gain a start.
Details of the changes include:
Whilst there is to be a return to race day trials rather than standalone trials restrictions on horse numbers will apply depending upon how many horses are at the race meeting and how many horses can be safely accommodated.
If ballots are required horses that have been stood down or are unqualified will be included first with all other starters to be determined by handicappers considering factors such as date of last start, date of last trial, outside draw, driver going for license, horse preparing for upcoming feature race or ballot from last trial nomination, in no particular order.
The handicapper’s decision regarding trial starters will be final and trial fields drawn will not be changed as the result of a complaint.
