The combined harness and greyhound meeting on Good Friday night in Hobart is fast becoming a Tassie racing tradition, and it’s back again with eight greyhound races and six harness events making up this year’s 14-race program.
Driver Dylan Ford will be out to continue his excellent start to the season when he takes the reins on King Island Cup winner Lou Lous Allgold in the Happy Easter Pace (2090m).
Lou Lous Allgold was a part of a satellite stable that Tammy Langley had on King Island over the summer, where the mare won at her four starts on the Island with her last win being in the cup where she over came a 20m handicap for a 6.5m win.
The five-year-old mare has been placed in three of five starts since arriving back on mainland Tasmania, including a last start third to Shaun To The Max where she sat on the back of the leader before using the sprint lane.
The Hobart program commences at 17:47 with the first greyhound race on Sky Racing 2, with the remainder of both codes on Sky Racing 2.
All races will be shown on TasrcingTV.
On Saturday in Launceston, Ford will drive Stone Writer in the state’s first two-year-old race of the year, the Keith Stanley Debutante Stakes (1680m).
The pacer is one of three from the Langley stable.
“About six weeks ago, we decided that I would drive him (Stone Writer) and that Nathan (Ford) would stick with Inside Three Bars, as he has been driving him in track work for the last six weeks.
“I don’t think there is much between them,” the driver said.
