Form Analysis by Darren Clayton
RACE ONE
On the back up from Saturday night where he drew the second line, IS THAT A BID (7) has snuck into the conditions of this race perfectly. Attacking the line three starts back when first up from a let up, he can overcome the outside paint in this line up.
THEBESTBOURBON (3) was chasing a hat-trick of wins last time out when making an error and finishing at the tail of the field. That was in a stand start contest after both wins came from the mobile and returning to the start car here will be an asset.
NORTIE NORTIE (4) has been runner-up at his past two starts, the latest when best of the chasing pack behind NOT AS PROMISED. He can be working into this to offer.
LOVE GUN (5) has featured in a stable change and lines up under race conditions for the Dixon stable. Banished to the trials for an error, he has struggled to put his best on display.
SELECTIONS: IS THAT A BID (7), THEBESTBOURBON (3), NORTIE NORTIE (4), LOVE GUN (5)
SUGGESTED BET: IS THAT A BID (7) to win
RACE TWO
Starting from this same handicap last week, KYVALLEY FINN (4) was trying to mount a closing raid when finishing 4m astern of the winner JUST CALL ME MOLLY. With the chance to roll forward early, he can be close enough to stake his claim.
JUST CALL ME MOLLY (1) made full use of the front tape here last week to hold them wide and lead throughout. Runner-up two starts back, she secures the front tape once again here and can use her manners to throw down the challenge.
TRIAGE (7) started fav here last week from this same impost when finishing midfield after settling too far back in the run. Getting closer to the action will aid his chances.
CEEPEEKAY (10) was luckless here last start when needing a gap that did not arrive in time. Despite being faced with the 20m and giving away plenty of experience, she can chime in.
SELECTIONS: KYVALLEY FINN (4), JUST CALL ME MOLLY (1), TRIAGE (7), CEEPEEKAY (10
SUGGESTED BET: KYVALLEY FINN (4) to win
RACE THREE
With four Qld starts against his name, EDWARD JAY (3) has drawn off the second line in three of those. His only front line appearance was four starts back when first up in the Sunshine State off a spell where he was runner-up to IMA BEACH BABE. The gate can be the catalyst for victory.
ELEGANT WOMAN (4) is only lightly race and resumes from a spell after her last start when midfield in a tougher line up. Beating a few home in the Triad Final at just her sixth career start, she has been to the trials to prepare and can issue a challenge fresh.
INDI AIR TONIGHT (5) was a winner at the middle trip three starts back when finishing over the top of them from the second line. A starchy effort last start when parked, she is in the mix.
MULLUM ROXY (6) claimed victory by a head when returning from a long spell and was under 2m from the winner when second up. The wide gate makes this a tough ask.
SELECTIONS: EDWARD JAY (3), ELEGANT WOMAN (4), INDI AIR TONIGHT (5), MULLUM ROXY (6)
SUGGESTED BET: EDWARD JAY (3) to win
RACE FOUR
First up from a spell last time out, CHARGE AHEAD (3) was snagged off the gate to settle at the rear. Making good metres in the closing stages to be under 5m from the winner, he should trim up from the run and with an improved gate can look to capitalise.
KASH TIN (4) was a model of consistency through the back end of last season where he hit the board in five of his last seven, including a win at t the mile. Stepping out for the first time this season, he secures an improved gate and can throw it down.
LUKA DONCIC (8) secures second line options as the lone runner out the back. Pressing forward to park out last start and hold on for the bronze, he can feature once again.
CAPTAIN NEMO (6) has been faced with a second line gate at his past two where he has been unable to make a closing impression. Runner-up three back, he has podium claims here.
SELECTIONS: CHARGE AHEAD (3), KASH TIN (4), LUKA DONCIC (8), CAPTAIN NEMO (6)
SUGGESTED BET: CHARGE AHEAD (3) to win
RACE FIVE
Given no favours from the wide gate, TEST OF FIRE (7) will be looking to make two in a week after scoring a smart win on Friday. Leading throughout at the 2138 in that outing, he is now a four-time winner on this deck and can defy the gate to add another to the tally.
GOOD WORD THAT (10) was making good metres in the closing stages last start to grab the silver behind HEAVENLY WISDOM at the middle trip. Strong to the line three starts back behind BADLANDER, a good tempo will aid his chances of challenging.
BLUE BLOODZ (4) will be better suited back at the mile after tackling them middle trip last start. Placed in all three starts prior, he can look to add another minor to the tally.
JUSTROLLINGAROUND (3) held on to grab the bronze last start after setting the tempo in front and going under as the fav. Settling handy, she can be chiming in here.
SELECTIONS: TEST OF FIRE (7), GOOD WORD THAT (10), BLUE BLOODZ (4), JUSTROLLINGAROUND (3)
SUGGESTED BET: TEST OF FIRE (7) to win
RACE SIX
CALL TO ORDER (2) was able to defy gate 7 last start when working home wide around the final bend and sweeping home to claim a smart victory. Not too far away from them the start prior when snookered from inside the second line, he gets his chance to go again.
MY ROCKY ROMANCE (6) powered up off the arm las start at Redcliffe to take control and fend off all the challengers to score. Runner-up here three starts back, the wide gate dents the chances but positioning cheaply can see him issue the challenge.
APHRODITE (1) has finished second at her past two in succession, the latest when using the passing lane to be 2m from the winner. Off this gate, she can chase another minor.
MONTGOMERY BURNS (3) eased last start from gate 5 before attacking the line strongly to be just 4m from the winner. This is a big drop in grade.
SELECTIONS: CALL TO ORDER (2), MY ROCKY ROMANCE (6), APHRODITE (1), MONTGOMERY BURNS (3)
SUGGESTED BET: CALL TO ORDER (2) to win
RACE SEVEN
Making his Qld debut last time out in a strong 75Heat,THE MIGHTY SULLY (5) settled behind the leader and then tried to mount a challenge along the passing lane when just an eyelash short of victory. There is some good form lines in this race, but he gets his chance to capitalise.
OUR INDIFFERENCE (8) is a four-time winner here at The Creek from just eight starts and secures the advantage of being the lone runner from the second line. Forcing the issue to take control with 1000 to travel last start, he can look to get into a challenging position.
OUR BENSON (6) held on for the bronze last time out after trying to take them all the wat at the mile. Overcoming gate 7 two starts back, he can settle handy and look to make a play.
KHULAN KID (3) has hit some good form and lines up from the good gate. With both wins over the 2138, he should be able to see it out over the longer trip
SELECTIONS: THE MIGHTY SULLY (5), OUR INDIFFERENCE (8), OUR BENSON (6), KHULAN KID (3)
SUGGESTED BET:
RACE EIGHT
Yet to miss the money at The Creek in five appearances, DAGGY LAMB (9) was able to overcome this same gate last start. Saved for the last shot, he had the closing power to descend on them. Working in the run to press forward two starts back when 3rd, he can go again.
POWERMOVE (5) should take good benefit from her last outing where she was first up from a spell. Making strong metres in the closing stages of that contest when just 1m from DADDY LAMB, positioning cheaply will be the key to her claims.
JESSEJAMES SHANNON (8) backs up from Friday where he was midfield behind IM BOO which dictated in front. Luckless the start prior when probing, he can chime in here.
BORSELLINO (6) was impressive when resuming from a spell two starts back and then last time hit traffic when searching for a gap. The gate makes it a tough ask.
SELECTIONS: DAGGY LAMB (9), POWERMOVE (5), JESSEJAMES SHANNON (8), BORSELLINO (6)
SUGGESTED BET: DAGGY LAMB (9) to win
