Form Analysis by Craig Rail

Race 1:

OVERVIEW: CHIRRIPO (11) will appreciate a drop back in class on her recent efforts in Super Series events with her latest performance being a handy fifth in the Silver Final. She is badly drawn but is racing well enough to be very competitive under these conditions. IVANA BYTHESEASIDE (6) is a fast beginner and was driven aggressively in the early stages before gaining cover when a brave third behind Luna Dream last week. She is working up to a win against this class. WRITTEN IN SILK (9) put together five wins in succession prior to competing at Metropolitan level at Melton. She was unplaced at Wagga last outing but this race is more suitable and she is capable of returning to winning form. RUBY WINGATE (8) made some ground in a slick mile rate of 1.54.5 last outing and was a winner at Ararat three starts ago so she is not without a chance.

EARLY SPEED: 6 (possible leader), 2,3,5

SELECTIONS: CHIRRIPO (11), IVANA BYTHESEASIDE (6), WRITTEN IN SILK (9), RUBY WINGATE (8)

RATINGS: 6,11/ 9/ 8/ 2,3

SUGGESTED BET: CHIRRIPO (11) to win

Race 2:

OVERVIEW: MARLO MAREAU (10) did a terrific job to qualify for the Super Series Grand Final and will appreciate a massive drop back in class for this assignment. She defeated The Steel Dragon (won since) prior to the Super Series commencing and she should prove hard to beat against this line up. HOT ROCKS (9) will be ready to break through for a win after his two starts back from a break and he finished off nicely out wide on the track at his latest second. He is versatile and is capable of overcoming the back row draw. BYRNESIDE BOOM (4) will appreciate a drop back in class on his latest efforts in Super Series events and this is his best draw for some time so he is capable of improving on his numerical form. GEMAEDDE (7) was driven aggressively from a similar wide draw and raced without cover throughout when a close second at Ballarat. She is racing well and cannot be left out of calculations.

EARLY SPEED: 1 (possible leader), 4

SELECTIONS: MARLO MAREAU (10), HOT ROCKS (9), BYRNESIDE BOOM (4), GEMAEDDE (7)

RATINGS: 10/ 4,9/ 7/ 1,8

SUGGESTED BET: MARLO MAREAU (10) each way

Race 3:

OVERVIEW: BLAKE BOLAC (7) was driven aggressively from a similar wide draw and produced a big performance when second (head) behind Younggiftedandblack in a slick mile rate of 1.53.3 at Melton last week. That was his best effort for some time and a repeat performance will see him go close to winning. HUGO ROCKS (9) worked forward to find the lead and held on to score at Bendigo two starts ago then followed with a close up fourth behind the smart pacer Roadmaster. He appears to be well placed against this class and should be competitive again. SURFINGMAKESCENTS (6) settled four back on the inside and picked up ground when fifth behind Sweet Bella in the Super Series Final at Melton last outing. She is a classy mare and is competing against a field of less depth so she must be respected. TALLARAS SHADOW (5) possess a powerful finishing burst as evidenced by her victory at Charlton on Monday and MAXY WANTS TO PLAY (8) should run his usual honest race.

EARLY SPEED: 7 (possible leader), 1,2,3

SELECTIONS: BLAKE BOLAC (7), HUGO ROCKS (9), SURFINGMAKESCENTS (6), TALLARAS SHADOW (5)

RATINGS: 7/ 6,9/ 5,8/ 2,3

SUGGESTED BET: BLAKE BOLAC (7) each way

Race 4:

OVERVIEW: MARTY THE MARTIAN (7) continues to build on his consistent record and must be considered as a winning chance again. He was a winner over Ozzie Punta in a mile rate of 1.55.4 at Bendigo on August 14 and did well when second at Charlton on Monday. GOOD DAY (1) is a fast beginner and is perfectly drawn over the sprint distance. He attempted to lead throughout when a close fourth (head) behind Wattlebank Arnie at Shepparton last week and he led throughout at a Cranbourne victory on September 01. BRUISED EGO (8) is a short course specialist and will be fitter after his first up second at Echuca behind Our Bella Lucia. He is a good chance of ending up behind the leader from the trailing draw so he appears to be a good value bet. NEATNTIDY (3) and FOURTH IN LINE (4) should both be competitive from their good draw on the front line.

EARLY SPEED: 1 (likely leader), 3,4,7

SELECTIONS: MARTY THE MARTIAN (7), GOOD DAY (1), BRUISED EGO (8), NEATNTIDY (3)

RATINGS: 7/ 1,8/ 3,4/ 6,9

SUGGESTED BET: MARTY THE MARTIAN (7) each way

Race 5:

OVERVIEW: KITSUNE (9) ran a cracking race when third behind Hoorah Philtra in the Super Series Bronze event then followed with a close up fifth behind Lenny Lincoln at Bendigo. He has the perfect trailing draw and is worth a ticket each way. PETE MITCHELL (5) is racing in great form having won five of his past seven starts. He settled midfield and was able to grind out a victory at Shepparton on Tuesday and this race is no harder. MONSIEUR FLAMEL (8) led out then took cover and scored at Wagga last week. He performs best when he is close to the speed so the barrier draw is a disadvantage but he is racing too well to dismiss. BELLA ABBY (1) and FOREGONE CONCLUSION (2) are both racing well enough to be competitive against this line up.

EARLY SPEED: 2 (likely leader), 5

SELECTIONS: KITSUNE (9), PETE MITCHELL (5), MONSIEUR FLAMEL (8), FOREGONE CONCLUSION (2)

RATINGS: 5,9/ 8/ 1,2

SUGGESTED BET: KITSUNE (9) each way

Race 6:

OVERVIEW: MYNAMEISRUBY (3) led out then took cover and was held up for a run at a vital stage when third behind the in-form pacer Pete Mitchell last week. She won under similar conditions at Shepparton on August 13 so she must be respected. TERROROAN (8) is awkwardly drawn on the inside of the second line but he is racing well enough to figure in the finish. He led throughout to win at Kilmore then finished off well from three back on the markers at his latest second behind Ima Charma. NOBLE JULIA (2) finished off solidly from midfield when she got up to score over Self Exclusion at Shepparton last week. This race is of similar standard so she is worth thought again. MARAKO SHARK (7) should be getting fitter after his four starts back from a spell and is a possible improver.

EARLY SPEED: 3 (possible leader), 2,5,7

SELECTIONS: MYNAMEISRUBY (3), TERROROAN (8), NOBLE JULIA (2), MARAKO SHARK (7)

RATINGS: 3,8/ 2/ 7/ 5

SUGGESTED BET: MYNAMEISRUBY (3) each way

Race 7:

OVERVIEW: RONZEL SONNY (9) began quickly to lead and copped a lot of pressure mid-race when fifth in a slick mile rate of 1.56.6 at Charlton on Monday. This is a drop back in class and he is effective when coming from off the speed so he must be considered as a winning chance. SWISS LIGHTNING (4) is a fast beginner and is a good chance of finding the lead shortly after the start. He has been unplaced at his past four starts but he missed out by a very narrow margin after leading at Mildura on August 09 so he warrants respect. BEAU BRONSKI (6) pushed forward to find the lead and was run down in the latter stages when fourth at Echuca last outing. He hasn’t been at his best form recently but he strikes a suitable assignment now. CHALKNCHEDDAR (5) should be reaching his peak form after his two runs back from a spell and he ran a sharper race from behind the leader at his latest attempt so he is not without a chance.

EARLY SPEED: 4 (likely leader), 1,6

SELECTIONS: RONZEL SONNY (9), SWISS LIGHTNING (4), BEAU BRONSKI (6), CHALKNCHEDDAR (5)

RATINGS: 9/ 4,6/ 5/ 1,3,8

SUGGESTED BET: RONZEL SONNY (9) to win

Race 8:

OVERVIEW: CHARLIE CHOPS (2) is a first starter for trainer James Frost, which won a trial in slow time at Shepparton last week. He meets a suitable field for his debut and he should go well from the handy draw. KYRGIOS (9) is still learning but shows promise and ran a reasonable race for third behind Abraham at Maryborough last outing. He has shown more ability at the trials than on the race track to date but he gets his chance to break through under these conditions. HEART OF OAKLANDS (4) is backing up quickly from his effort at Mildura on Friday but he ran home well for third on that track two weeks ago so he is not without a chance. LA FRANK (7) was placed in a stronger race won by Where is Woody at Bendigo three starts ago so he cannot be left out of calculations.

EARLY SPEED: 3 (possible leader), 6

SELECTIONS: CHARLIE CHOPS (2), KYRGIOS (9), HEART OF OAKLANDS (4), LA FRANK (7)

RATINGS: 2/ 9/ 4,7/ 3

SUGGESTED BET: CHARLIE CHOPS (2) to win
