Form Analysis by Craig Rail

Race 1:

OVERVIEW: FERRIGNO (2) has been competing in Metropolitan 3yo events at Melton recently and was placed behind Some American on June 08 so he appears to be very well placed against this field. MY WAY (7) has had one win and four seconds from five starts this preparation and is one of the leading chances again. He chased hard from midfield when a close second behind Byrneside Boom last outing. SKY CITY (4) trailed the leader and used the sprint lane when fourth at Yarra Valley last outing but his overall form is sound so he is worth another chance. LILS NIGHTMARE (12) finished off quickly when second at Swan Hill last outing and rates as a knockout chance.

EARLY SPEED: 2 (likely leader), 1,3,5,6

SELECTIONS: FERRIGNO (2), MY WAY (7), SKY CITY (4), LILS NIGHTMARE (12)

RATINGS: 2/ 7/ 4,12/ 1,5,8

SUGGESTED BET: FERRIGNO (2) to win

Race 2:

OVERVIEW: ALPHA CRUCIS (5) was headed off at the start and ended up being three back on the markers when a close second behind Kardesler at Cranbourne last outing. He is racing in good form and deserves to break through for a win. HAIR RAZOR (10) settled midfield and worked into the race nicely looming up to the home turn when he got home best to win at Cranbourne on Sunday. This race is of similar quality so he is worth thought again. TERROROAN (4) possesses gate speed and is a good chance of leading out then taking cover behind ALPHA CRUCIS (5) so he is worth a ticket each way. EAGLES AND INDIANS (6) and JERSEY SAM (8) are both coming into this race having won at their latest attempt and are not without a chance.

EARLY SPEED: 4 (likely early leader), 2,5,7

SELECTIONS: ALPHA CRUCIS (5), HAIR RAZOR (10), TERROROAN (4), JERSEY SAM (8)

RATINGS: 5/ 4,10/ 6,8/ 3,9,11

SUGGESTED BET: ALPHA CRUCIS (5) to win

Race 3:

OVERVIEW: SKY LINDY (7) is ready to break through for a win after being runner up in both of her starts since resuming. She raced on the outside of the leader throughout and battled on well for second at her latest attempt. ALDEBARAN MARSHALL (5) ran third in the same race last week after setting the speed and appears to be one of the leading chances again. KYVALLEY MARIACHI (11) recorded reasonable time when he won a trial at Melton recently so he is not without a chance. EXALTED LADY (4) is resuming since a fourth behind Stately Salome in November but she was able to defeat Lots of Change at a Shepparton trial effort last week so a bold showing is expected. AMALIA PEARL (6) performed below expectations ($2-40 fav) when resuming since December but she was racing well last season so she is worth another chance.

EARLY SPEED: 5 (possible leader), 3,4,7

SELECTIONS: SKY LINDY (7), ALDEBARAN MARSHALL (5), KYVALLEY MARIACHI (11), EXALTED LADY (4)

RATINGS: 7/ 4,5/ 6/ 2,3,8,9

SUGGESTED BET: SKY LINDY (7) to win

Race 4:

OVERVIEW: STEADY DREAM (1) is a beautifully bred first starter, which won a trial at Melton recently and has drawn on the pole position for trainer Jess Tubbs. She obviously has ability and is worth following. EZRA KAI (6) is a fast beginner and has been placed in four of his five starts to date so he is worth an investment. He led and was run down late when a close second behind Vytis last outing. MUSKEE (2) is a debutante for trainer John Justice, which was third behind STEADY DREAM (1) at his first trial then recorded a runaway victory at his latest trial performance. He is ideally drawn and must be respected. MAJIC VALLEY (7) is the only horse competing in this event that has won previously so she must be rated highly. She trailed the leader and used the sprint lane to defeat EZRA KAI (6) at her latest victory.

EARLY SPEED: 6 (likely leader), 2,3,5

SELECTIONS: STEADY DREAM (1), EZRA KAI (6), MUSKEE (2), MAJIC VALLEY (7)

RATINGS: 1,6/ 2,7

SUGGESTED BET: STEADY DREAM (1) each way

Race 5:

OVERVIEW: THEANSWER (6) is resuming since a second behind the smart pacer Clymenus at Bendigo in February. She won the Gold Chalice last season and was third in the Caduceus 3yo Classic during her last campaign so she is a classy pacer. She won a Bendigo trial last week so she should prove very hard to beat. BIZZNESS CLASS (2) was held up for a run at a vital stage and finished off quickly when a game second behind Joelita at Terang last outing. He is a fast beginner and should be prominent throughout from his good draw. ROCKANDANCE (11) has performed extremely well since returning from New South Wales with three wins out of his four starts. He endured a tough run when he scored in a mile rate of 1.54.6 last outing so he is worth thought again. THE IRON DUKE (8) and PABLO ROCKS (9) are both racing well enough to figure in the finish.

EARLY SPEED: 2 (likely leader), 3,4,5,6

SELECTIONS: THEANSWER (6), BIZNESS CLASS (2), ROCKANDANCE (11), PABLO ROCKS (9)

RATINGS: 6/ 2,11/ 8,9/ 1,5

SUGGESTED BET: THEANSWER (6) to win

Race 6:

OVERVIEW: SUNSUP (9) is racing in outstanding form having been placed in six of his seven starts for the season. He finished off well to score at Melton two starts ago then made ground late when third behind Hadtobeharry last outing. VICI BLOOM (7) finished off strongly from the second half of the field when a game fifth behind El Resamo at Melton. She won at Shepparton three starts ago and is capable of overcoming the wide draw. WISHING STAR (8) ran home nicely for a close fourth at Bendigo then had little luck at his latest seventh. NOBLE COUNT (2) has shown improvement recently and has claims along with CROOKWELL EYES (4) and MAESTRO (10).

EARLY SPEED: 5 (possible leader), 4,6

SELECTIONS: SUNSUP (9), VICI BLOOM (7), WISHING STAR (8), NOBLE COUNT (2)

RATINGS: 9/ 7,8/ 2/ 4,10

SUGGESTED BET: SUNSUP (9) to win

Race 7:

OVERVIEW: I SEE IRIS (4) has struck peak form having had a win and three seconds out of her past four starts. She finished off strongly for second behind Written In Silk (won again since) at Bendigo last outing so she is worth an investment. BLISSFULL LILLY (3) is shooting for three wins in succession and is a chance of completing the task. She won softly after trailing the leader at Cranbourne last outing and she should gain a nice trail close to the speed again here. MISSLOLA (10) is resuming since a win in a mile rate of 1.56.5 at Bendigo in January and hasn’t been to the trials so she must be kept safe. TOOBY GOLD (7) and WHERES WOOD WOOD (8) are both capable of showing up without surprising.

EARLY SPEED: 4 (possible leader), 1,3

SELECTIONS: I SEE IRIS (4), BLISSFULL LILY (3), MISSLOLA (10), WHERES WOOD WOOD (8)

RATINGS: 4/ 3,10/ 8,9/ 2,5

SUGGESTED BET: I SEE IRIS (4) to win

Race 8:

OVERVIEW: ATEGO DAWN (4) has won three of her past five starts and was heavily backed when she produced a strong performance to win last outing. This race is no harder and she should prove hard to beat again. MASSIF CENTRAL (9) broke stride in the early stages and produced a big effort to finish second behind Montana Chevelle at Melton. He was a winner at Shepparton on May 15 and should go well again if he delivers a fool proof display. IVAR (5) settled three back on the markers and finished off quickly to win at Echuca last outing. He has struck peak form and is worth thought again. AGAINST THE BRIDLE (7) has been placed in six of his past seven starts and won easily at Cranbourne on June 02. He disappointed at Cranbourne last outing but is worth another chance.

EARLY SPEED: 2 (likely leader), 4,6,7

SELECTIONS: ATEGO DAWN (4), MASSIF CENTRAL (9), IVAR (5), AGAINST THE BRIDLE (7)

RATINGS: 4/ 5,7,9/ 1,3,11

SUGGESTED BET: ATEGO DAWN (4) to win

Race 9:

OVERVIEW: CALYPSO MISTRESS (5) will appreciate a big drop back in class for this assignment and broke stride approaching the home turn when leading at Geelong last outing. She has been placed in six of her past eight starts and will prove hard to beat under these conditions. MARKLEIGH CAZ (6) is capable of sprinting to the line quickly with the right trail forward and is worth thought despite being first up since April and having not been to the trials. KYLOAN QUEEN (8) finished off well from midfield when fourth last outing and was a winner at Bendigo three starts ago so she is not without a chance. MURIEL (10) has been placed in three of her past four starts against similar opposition so she cannot be left out of calculations.

EARLY SPEED: 5 (possible leader), 1,3,7

SELECTIONS: CALYPSO MISTRESS (5), MARKLEIGH CAZ (6), KYLOAN QUEEN (8), MURIEL (10)

Race 10:

OVERVIEW: CYCLONE BELLA (1) produced a game performance for second behind Sweetnikkilou in a mile rate of 1.57.8 at a Melton trial effort last week and she is drawn to go close. VILLAROCK (11) finished fourth in the same trial and his overall trial form has been very good so he must be considered as a winning chance. HES LETHAL (4) went to the line hard held in third position at his latest trial performance so a bold showing would not surprise. MY KGARI (7) pushed forward to race without cover and battled on bravely at her latest second in a mile rate of 1.58.4. She is widely drawn but is improving with every outing and is not without a chance.

EARLY SPEED: 1 (possible leader), 5,6

SELECTIONS: CYCLONE BELLA (1), VILLAROCK (11), HES LETHAL (4), MY KGARI (7)
