Form Analysis by Darren Clayton
RACE ONE
EN MASSE (7) was safely away here last start and following a cheap run along he inside, had the closing speed to dart through for the victory. Trotting much cleaner in both prior starts, she keeps the same impost as her last start victory and can look to chase the repeat.
VOLTAIN (4) bombed the start last start and was never a factor thereafter. Safely away from the front tape two starts back, she held the pocket trail and had the closing speed to take the W. If she trots cleanly, she can be looking to issue the challenge.
YUKOND ME (6) is a newcomer to Qld that will be resuming after an eight-month break. With two Menangle trials before another local trial for the new barn, she stays under watch.
NATTY PAGGER (8) was making some late metres last start after being eased early for the poles. Starting off the same tape for this assignment, look for him chiming in down the stretch.
SELECTIONS: EN MASSE (7), VOLTAIN (4), YUKOND ME (6), NATTY PAGGER (8)
SUGGESTED BET: EN MASSE (7) to win
RACE TWO
After two starts following his arrival in Qld, LIFE OF ART (3) looks to have found the conditions to open the account. Off the back off a sharp trial, he was sent out deep into the red first up and after a tough run parked, was just behind the money. Runner-up to RUDY GEE when again forced to work, he looks to get his chance.
ROYAL SPEECH (6) was sent forward from the same wide gate last start and did the heavy lifting when still giving to the wire and under 2m from the winner. A similar margin after a similarly tough trip the start prior, he may need to roll the sleeves again to stake claim.
OUR MAJOR DAY (7) should appreciate the small field, albeit offset from the wide gate. Unable to see them off last start in the Ultimate Driver Series when trying to dictate from gate 1, he saw them off over the mile here three starts back. A return to this grade is in his favour.
ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (5) was game in defeat last start when forced to work in the run and finishing 5m astern of the winner. Chasing home FREE THINKER the start prior, he has podium claims.
SELECTIONS: LIFE OF ART (3), ROYAL SPEECH (6), OUR MAJOR DAY (7), ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (5)
SUGGESTED BET: LIFE OF ART (3) to win
RACE THREE
Undefeated in his two starts since arriving in the Sunshine State, ITS ELECFTRIFYING (1) looks to have found the perfect conditions to chalk up another. Dictating from gate 5 and pulling clear to post a 19m victory last start, he lands the inside gate, and it looks real #LeaderPeter areas.
THETORQUE MAJORITY (9) was ready to roll third up here last start, and after easing off the arm from a wide gate, he was soon put into the contest, rolling forward to sit parked. Proving too strong and allowed to coast to the wire to score, the second line makes it tough in this.
OUR ULTIMATE QUEEN (3) closed out her 3YO term with successive victories, including a Saturday night second division qualifier against the older mares. Placed claims look best fresh up.
FEAR THE BANKER (5) had trialled in good order in readiness for his first Qld appearance after seven months off. Not too far away when fresh but keen in the run, he can be thereabouts.
SELECTIONS: ITS ELECTRIFYING (1), THETORQUE MAJORITY (9), OUR ULTIMATE QUEEN (3), FEAR THE BANKER (5)
SUGGESTED BET: ITS ELECTRIFYING (1) to win
RACE FOUR
WAIKAKA MAGIC (7) is given no favours off the outside gate but might just be put on a forward march in the early stages. A first up winner on this side of the Tasman in impressive style, he looked sharp in a preparatory trial and if bringing that here, should be able to make light work of his first attempt over the middle trip.
VALLANI MAGIC (1) had been runner-up in successive starts before finding the conditions to dictate and grip on for a narrow victory here last time out from this same gate. Only collared in the closing stages by THETORQUE MAJORITY two back, her middle trip conversion rate is a concern.
UDDERLY SWEET (9) was last seen back in October when holding 3rd behind COOL AND CLASSY, he opened the pipes with an easy trial hit out, but off the second line is given no favours where he will be chasing.
SPORTS BOUNTY (4) was chasing a hat-trick of wins last start when best of the chasing pack behind the smart ITS ELECTRIFYING. Too strong the start prior, he can chime in again here.
SELECTIONS: WAIKAKA MAGIC (7), VALLANI MAGIC (1), UDDERLY SWEET (9), SPORTS BOUNTY (4)
SUGGESTED BET: WAIKAKA MAGIC (7) to win
RACE FIVE
A winner three starts back from the second line, JUSTROLLINGAROUND (3) sat in the 1x1 trail before easing wide and putting them away in the closing stages. Runner-up in both subsequent attempts, the latest when leading them up, she finds the line up to capitalise.
JILLIBY GIDDEY (6) is a 3YO that arrives in Qld to join the Charlie Cini stable after three Victorian starts. A debut winner at Terang late in the 2YO term, when defying a wide gate, both efforts since have been meritorious and in slick time and he finds the right conditions first up.
CHEDDAR MADE BETA (2) backs up from a dictating win here on Friday when finding the front over the 2138 and holding on for a 5m margin. He can be handy enough to feature again here.
WESTERN ACTION (8) was eased to find cover last start and soon buried in the run before picking off some late metres. Positioning cheaply will be key to his podium hopes.
SELECTIONS: JUSTROLLINGAROUND (3), JILLIBY GIDDEY (6), CHEDDAR MADE BETA (2), WESTERN ACTION (8)
SUGGESTED BET:
RACE SIX
Despite a tricky gate, IRON CLAD (6) might just have found the conditions to capitalise here second up from a break. Shut down following a gritty 2nd at Redcliffe behind BRONSKI ZULU, he was snagged back in an Ultimate Driver heat when resuming behind DELE ROW.
WE ALWAYS HAVE FAITH (7) is afforded no favours from the wide gate but faces a substantial class drop back to this midweek contest. Tackling open company last start behind TIMS A TROOPER, the start prior he was chasing HIRANYA. This looks a suitable test.
KICKATINALONGPONY (4) rolled forward to sit parked over the latter stages at Redcliffe last start and was right in the mix as the small field hit the line together. He can be chiming in here.
GLENEAGLE VEE CEE (1) will be further tightened from his latest outing when second up from a spell. Trying to see them off from this same gate when 4m astern of the winner, he is ap odium player here.
SELECTIONS: IRON CLAD (6), WE ALWAYS HAVE FAITH (7), KICKATINALONGPONY (4), GLENEAGLE VEE CEE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: IRON CLAD (6) to win
RACE SEVEN
First up for the new barn here last time out, RUDY GEE (9) was sent straight to the front from the good gate and dictated to a 3m margin in a career PB. The second line makes this a tougher ask, but with the added fitness, he looks to have the edge to capitalise.
FACT FINDER (8) returns from a spell after his last appearance back in August when tackling the 3YO Triad Consolation when beaten a half-head. With a sound preparatory trial, he can secure a soft trip fresh up and be looking to make a late raid when the gaps appear.
BONNIES CAM (2) was luckless last time from inside the second line and shuffled out of it, he was forced to work hard from a wide gate the start prior at Redcliffe. This looks his chance to capitalise on an improved gate.
APHRODITE (4) backs up from a mare’s event on Saturday when midfield. Putting up a starchy performance from outside the front-line the start prior, she can be handy enough to chase a minor.
SELECTIONS: RUDY GEE (9), FACT FINDER (8), BONNIES CAM (2), APHRODITE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: RUDY GEE (9) to win
