Form Analysis by Luke Humphreys

Race 1:

OVERVIEW: RIO ROCK (11) had to cover a lot of extra ground in a similar race over the course and distance a fortnight ago and wasn’t far behind Hot Deal and subsequent Ballarat Cup fourth Our Vincent Can Gogh the start prior. CEMETERY BAY (9) won the form-line race two weeks ago before competing against stronger down at Maryborough. KEAYANG MOROCCAN (7) is racing very well and was narrowly beaten a fortnight ago whilst TWISTED BLISS (10) was a beaten favourite two weeks ago but had been going well prior. ONLY ONCE BITTEN (3) was luckless in the same race whilst PRIORITISE (8), CAULONIA TERROR (5) and LOUIEVILLE (2) all have chances too.

EARLY SPEED: 1, 2 (Leader?), 3? 4, 6

SELECTIONS: RIO ROCK (11), CEMETERY BAY (9), KEAYANG MOROCCAN (7), TWISTED BLISS (10)

RATINGS: 11 / 9 / 7 / 10 / 3 / 8 / 5 / 2 / 1 / 4 / 6

SUGGESTED BET: RIO ROCK (11) Each-Way

Race 2:

OVERVIEW: TAP TO PAY (2) recorded her first minor placing on Echuca Cup night behind Starzinhereyes who has won since and has subsequently moved on to Zac Steenhuis and was very impressive in good time in her maiden victory at Swan Hill. This is a huge rise in grade, but the manner of her recent victory suggests she is up to the task. ROSTOVA (1) creates a lot of interest from the draw if she gains a start. Regardless of whether BARACK ENOBRAC (7) follows out TAP TO PAY (2) or ROSTOVA (1) he maps to enjoy a great run. The consistent pair of STARVIN MARVIN (10) and LE SPARTACUS (9) rate next.

EARLY SPEED: 1, 3 (Early Leader?), 4

SELECTIONS: TAP TO PAY (2), BARACK ENOBRAC (7), STARVIN MARVIN (10), LE SPARTACUS (9)

RATINGS: 2 / 1 / 7 / 10 / 9 / 5 / 6 / 8 / 3 / 4 / 11

SUGGESTED BET: BARACK ENOBRAC (7) Each-Way

Race 3:

OVERVIEW: ROSTOVA (4) creates much interest if gaining a run, a la the previous race on the card. She set up good time at Stawell last Friday and was only run down late and she has proven to be talented on her day. OZZIE DAYBREAK (8) was a winner five runs back and has recorded two seconds and two thirds subsequently so from an each-way perspective he looks hard to go past. AMERICAN BOXER (9) was well down the track as an odds-on chance at Globe Derby last start, but his best form would give him a chance. MEMPHIS BLASTER (6) and DANNY RAY (3) rate next if putting their best foot forward.

EARLY SPEED: 1, 3? 4, 5 (Leader)

SELECTIONS: OZZIE DAYBREAK (8), AMERICAN BOXER (9), MEMPHIS BLASTER (6), DANNY RAY (3)

RATINGS: 4 / 8 / 9 / 6 / 3 / 7 / 11 / 10 / 5 / 2 / 1

SUGGESTED BET: OZZIE DAYBREAK (8) Each-Way

Race 4:

OVERVIEW: STONEBRIDGE STAR (9) was the fresh horse on the scene last start and was able to come from well back to score in a race at this level and make amends for the start prior when he should have won at Swan Hill if not for contacting a sulky and galloping with 500 metres to travel. This contest is slightly stronger than last time, but he will be more than competitive as usual. BEARTASTIC WRITER (10) is a dead set leader, so the barrier is an obvious disadvantage, but he still rates highly enough. GUYS BETTOR BET (1) and ROBERT CROCKA (2) shouldn’t be far away from their good low barrier draws.

EARLY SPEED: 1? 2, 3, 4, 5 (Eventual Leader?), 6

SELECTIONS: STONEBRIDGE STAR (9), BEARTASTIC WRITER (10), GUYS BETTOR BET (1), ROBERT CROCKA (2)

RATINGS: 9 / 10 / 1 / 2 / 6 / 5 / 3 / 7 / 8 / 4

SUGGESTED BET: STONEBRIDGE STAR (9) Each-Way

Race 5:

OVERVIEW: CRUZ WITH ROME (6) has been a close-up second in both runs for Broken Hill trainer John Garnaut and despite the outside of the front-line barrier he must be given as good a chance as any. MUSTANG MAX (4) has been close-up in each of his last four runs which include two minor placings. ALIENFROMARMSTRONG (3) is the only maiden in the field but is in career best form and is very close to a victory. He did split CRUZ WITH ROME (6) and MUSTANG MAX (4) in the form-line event two weeks ago, so he is more than up to this on that effort. PUNTO CALIENTE (10) is the other chance.

EARLY SPEED: 1 (Leader), 4, 6?

SELECTIONS: CRUZ WITH ROME (6), MUSTANG MAX (4), ALIENFROMARMSTRONG (3), PUNTO CALIENTE (10)

RATINGS: 6 / 4 / 3 / 10 / 8 / 7 / 1 / 9 / 2 / 5

SUGGESTED BET: ALIENFROMARMSTRONG (3) Each-Way

Race 6:

OVERVIEW: KEAYANG CRIPPA (4) took a while to hit his straps when first moving to the Sunraysia, but he has done very little wrong in the last two and a half months. He put the writing on the wall five back and then recorded a victory a few days later. He has been seventh and fourth in each of his next two runs at this venue, but a Port Pirie victory was in-between. COURTNEY KATARINA (1) was headed off early last start but looks a better chance of leading in this and she is bursting for a victory. CHEERS POVERTY (7) will get a great sit whilst IMAGE OF STARZZZ (6) is interesting.

EARLY SPEED: 1 (Leader), 3? 4, 5

SELECTIONS: KEAYANG CRIPPA (4), COURTNEY KATARINA (1), CHEERS POVERTY (7), IMAGE OF STARZZZ (6)

RATINGS: 4 / 1 / 7 / 6 / 3 / 9 / 8 / 2 / 5 / 10

SUGGESTED BET: KEAYANG CRIPPA (4) Each-Way

Race 7:

OVERVIEW: HELENS BOY (3) was best of the rest behind an impressive winner in the main form pointer for this event at the last meeting at this venue two weeks ago so he will prove hard to beat on that run. CAPTAINS DREAM (6) looks the obvious danger and since finishing two places behind HELENS BOY (3) on January 15 he has chased home better opposition so he could very well be the winner. ELISSAS DELIGHT (1) started out with the Douglas and McGuigan stables and now has her second run for Scott Garraway. She looks best of the rest from her low barrier draw. SKYLINE ANGEL (5) is an interesting five-year-old debutante.

EARLY SPEED: 3, 4, 5? 6 (Leader?)

SELECTIONS: HELENS BOY (3), CAPTAINS DREAM (6), ELISSAS DELIGHT (1), SKYLINE ANGEL (5)

RATINGS: 3 / 6 / 1 / 5 / 7 / 10 / 9 / 8 / 4 / 2

SUGGESTED BET: Quinella 3 & 6

Race 8:

OVERVIEW: HESASTAR (4) was impressive when winning at this level over 1790 metres a fortnight ago in 1:59.1 after being three deep to the death and proving too good for his rivals. Ellen Tormey retains the partnership and on last start he must be given the utmost of respect. YOU LITTLE TERROR (1) was third against stronger at Swan Hill last start and maps to enjoy a perfect run to suit his pattern of racing, so he is a strong each-way chance as is GOOD BOOTS BINDI (7) from the peg line barrier on the second row. DAYLIGHT (6) draws the widest but might lead anyway and if so, could easily win again.

EARLY SPEED: 1? 2? 3? 4? 5? 6 (Leader)

SELECTIONS: HESASTAR (4), YOU LITTLE TERROR (1), GOOD BOOTS BINDI (7), DAYLIGHT (6)

RATINGS: 4 / 1 / 7 / 6 / 8 / 9 / 2 / 3 / 5

SUGGESTED BET: GOOD BOOTS BINDI (7) Each-Way
