Form Analysis by Darren Clayton

RACE ONE

A strong race for the midweeks to open the card where CAPTAIN SHUFFLES (7) will be resuming from a spell after his last appearance back in June when runner-up to ALWAYS SMOKIN. Too strong in front two starts back, he can defy the gate to cash in fresh.

MR MCLAREN (6) had the early hustle to find the poles before releasing last start when 5m from the winner NORTHVIEW HUSTLER.  A winner when leading two starts back, he is afforded no favours from the gate but can be issuing a challenge.

BETTERTHANAROCKET (10) rolled forward to sit parked last time and despite the tough trip was still thereabouts in the latter stages. Off speed, he can launch late.

O B LEGAL (8) will be searching for luck at some stage as he is in danger of being buried away. Tackling open company is past two starts, he will be probing.

SELECTIONS: CAPTAIN SHUFFLES (7), MR MCLAREN (6), BETTERTHANAROCKET (10), O B LEGAL (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE TWO

A winner at his last run of his previous campaign, MY ROCKY ROMANCE (1) is yet to hit the board in three runs back from a break. A sectional standout last start after easing from gate 7 and then making good metres in the stretch, the improved gate can be the catalyst for victory.

LITTLE BOLT (9) will take good benefit from his last start where he was returning from a spell. Closing out soundly to be 5m from the winner, he is never far from the action and with the right pull through early can be looking to make a challenge.

HOLD ONTO YA BLING (5) was second up from a spell last start when hitting the line strongly for the silver behind subsequent winner BETTERTHAN POPSY. He is a podium player here.

SKY BLU (3) was back in winning form last start when finishing strongly over the top of her rivals to claim the W. Positioning cheaply will be the key to her chances here.

SELECTIONS: MY ROCKY ROMANCE (1), LITTLE BOLT (9), HOLD ONTO YA BLING (5), SKY BLU (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

Sectionally strong last start, FRANCO MACHO (1) was midfield behind MYNAMESEVAN in a 70Final after staring from outside the second line. Luckless the start prior from inside the second line, he secures all the options here to capitalise.

MAJIC MOMENT (9) powered home strongly at this trip two starts back and pulled clear to a 10m margin. From gate 3 last start she was used early before receiving cover and loomed strongly to be just a half-head away. With the right trip, she can throw it down once again.

JUDITH GWENDA (4) was game in defeat behind the talented mare ELEGANT GROOVES three runs back and then last start overcame gate 12 at the middle trip. She can make a play again.

BLACKJACK BART (5) started from the second line at Redcliffe last start and owned the best closing speed to claim a narrow victory. He can be joining in again here.

SELECTIONS: FRANCO MACHO (1), MAJIC MOMENT (9), JUDITH GWENDA (4), BLACKJACK BART (5)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJIC MOMENT (9) each/way

RACE FOUR

Afforded no favours from the outside gate, AURORA JOY (7) will be needing some factors in her favour if she is to defy the gate. Sectionally impressive last start from outside the second line as FLO RYDA arrived, with the right tempo, this is a race that is within reach.

BROOKFIELDS BEAUTY (8) will be requiring some luck as she is at risk of being buried in the run. A mare that has a strong closing sprint when saved, she struck trouble last start and was banished to the trials. Earning the return, she just needs track to issue a challenge.

BELL RIVER BOY (5) has faced second line gates at his past three in succession and should appreciate a return to the front. Under 3m from the winner last start, he has podium claims.

JACKKA WALLY (9) might find this a shade easier than recent outings, the latest when midfield behind HARANYA. With the right trip, he is a podium hope.

SELECTIONS: AURORA JOY (7), BROOKFIELDS BEAUTY (8), BELL RIVER BOY (5), JACKKA WALLY (9)
SUGGESTED BET: AURORA JOY (7) to win

RACE FIVE

Making the most of his opportunity at Marburg two starts back, THE TIGER ARMY (10) was able to finish best to take victory. From this same gate at the mile last time, he was attacking the line strongly and would have found the going tough with a flat tyre on a heavy deck.

IDEAL DESIRE (8) was sent forward from the outside second line to sit parked last start over the middle trip. Despite the work, she was in for the fight, looming up to just fall short when under 2m from the winner. If the gap arrives in time from this gate, she can issue the challenge.

OLIVIA SHANNON (4) secured the pocket trail last start and when the gap presented, she had the speed to take her shot and claim the win. Settling handy will be the key to her chances.

MY GIRL MANDY (1) secures the options from the inside gate, however her conversion rate at the middle trip is the concern in a race where the minors look up for grabs.

SELECTIONS: THE TIGER ARMY (10), IDEAL DESIRE (8), OLIVIA SHANNON (4), MY GIRL MANDY (1)
SUGGESTED BET: THE TIGER ARMY (10) to win

RACE SIX

Placed at her past two starts from two different positions in the run, JOANS RISING STAR (9) can look to capitalise in this line up. Trying to take them all the way last start, she was collared in the closing stages to be 1m from the winner FLO RYDA.

PRINCE JOY (1) was a winner here three starts back in a race where the next three over the line have been subsequent winners to frank the effort. Unplaced at his next two, he should appreciate the options that this gate offers.

MISS CRUNCHY (2) is chasing a hat-trick after successive victories, the latest when pulling away to a 16m margin. This is harder but confidence and the gate are assets.

DARIN (6) started from inside the second line last time out and was soon locked away before making ground in the closing stages for the silver. He can be thereabouts once again.

SELECTIONS: JOANS RISING STAR (9), PRINCE JOY (1), MISS CRUNCHY (2), DARIN (6)
SUGGESTED BET: JOANS RISING STAR (9) to win

RACE SEVEN

A winner here two starts back when finishing over the top of his rivals, SPLASHNDASH (10) was a beaten fav last start when trying to muster up the passing lane but ultimately finishing 3m astern of the winner. The gate is not ideal but the tempo and his opposition look favourable.

PROSPECTUS (7) has been hitting some good areas in recent starts, the latest when strong to the line to be just a neck from the winner. Dictating the start prior at Redcliffe, the gate dents her chances in issuing the challenge.

LETS GET SHORTY (3) has been mixing his form, his latest performance when down the line after being force to sit parked. He has the gate to make an impact in this line up.

MAN OF ACTION (1) has the gate to get avail the options after his past two have been from tougher gates. Strong to the line last start, he is right in the mix.

SELECTIONS: SPLASHNDASH (10), PROSPECTUS (7), LETS GET SHORTY (3), MAN OF ACTION (1)
SUGGESTED BET:
SPLASHNDASH (10) to win

RACE EIGHT

MAJOR TRALEE (6)
has been producing some consistent results in recent outings, placing at his past three in succession. Sent forward to sit parked last start and grinding out the silver when under 2m from the winner, he can slide across to secure position and stake his claim.

MISS SYRAH (2) broke maiden ranks at Redcliffe three starts back and has been solid in both runs on this deck since. Beaten a head two starts back, she has good speed out of the machine and from this gate can find the poles and release the right runner before taking the closing shot.

JIMMY JOYCE (4) hit the line in good order last time out when just a half-neck from the winner. Midfield when snookered the start prior over the 2138, he can get handy to chime in.

SHEEZ GOT TORQUE (3) was down the line last start behind FILLY THIRTEEN which followed a luckless effort from outside the second line. Settling handy will boost her chances.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR TRALEE (6), MISS SYRAH (2), JIMMY JOYCE (4), SHEEZ GOT TORQUE (3),
SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR TRALEE (6) to win
