Form Analysis by Darren Clayton

RACE ONE

First up from a spell off the back of a sizzling trial, ROYAL SPEECH (10) was sent forward early from this same gate at the middle trip and pulled clear late to post an 8m margin. Tempo made it nigh impossible for anything chasing last start and this looks well within reach.

BETTOR KEPPEL (9) was down the line last start behind ROYAL CRUISER which had followed a nice close out when just missing the minors as KICK THE SWITCH cashed in. With the right cart through early, he can be challenging late.

BEACHRIDE (6) was sent around them from the second line last start to sit parked at the 2138 when finishing a half-neck from the winner DRAGON. He can stake a claim again here.

RAGING SEA (8) had worked into the pocket trail as they swung for home last start and lost his chance when hitting a wheel looking for the passing lane. He will be probing.

SELECTIONS: ROYAL SPEECH (10), BETTOR KEPPEL (9), BEACHRIDE (6), RAGING SEA (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE TWO

First up off an embargo last time out, SHEZA BONNY SHEILA (5) was faced with gate 7 and despite doing all the work in the run, was able to graft it out to finish just 1m from the winner SOPA OPERA. With added fitness, she can get forward to capitalise.

DEFENCE ATTORNEY (8) dictated to score two starts back at the mile and then last start from gate 6, was snagged back early and then never able to get warm in the closing stages. Following a good beginner, he can be coiled and awaiting the gap to take his shot.

HOUSTON STREET (1) tackled a strong mare’s qualifier last start and after easing for position was never a factor behind CHYNCHILLA. 1m from JEWEL MELODY two back, she can feature.

LETS GO BAILEY (2) was exposed early before receiving cover at the mile last start when holding on for the bronze behind SCRUFFY. Settling handy can see him in the mix.

SELECTIONS: SHEZA BONNY SHEILA (5), DEFENCE ATTORNEY (8), HOUSTON STREET (1), LETS GO BAILEY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: SHEZA BONNY SHEILA (5) to win

RACE THREE

NOVANTA RISING (1) settled in the running line from gate 2 here last week in a strong qualifier and was making metres when just outside the top three as ROYAL CRUISER chased in. Only 3m from KINGMAN the start prior, he lands all the options from the gate to take his shot.

LAURIE DEE (2) made the most of the conditions two starts back to take control and then fight them off in an all the way victory. Wide off the track last time from outside the second line, he can get forward to throw down the challenge.

ART JESTER (7) made full use of his best gate in a long time when claiming victory here last start at the 2138. Back to a tough draw, he can still fill the minors.

BETTERTHAN POPSY (9) found the 1x1 trail last start and could not go on with it in the latter stages. Chasing home MAJOR MOTH the start prior, he can be joining in.

SELECTIONS: NOVANTA RISING (1), LAURIE DEE (2), ART JESTER (7), BETTERTHAN POPSY (9)
SUGGESTED BET: NOVANTA RISING (1) to win

RACE FOUR

With two high class performances that went without reward at his past two outings, SURE THING CAPTAIN (2) finds the ideal conditions to capitalise here. Runner-up to MAJOR MOTH last time, he can get forward and prove hard to stop if clearing easily.

ALTA MAGACIAN (1) was attacking the line strongly last time out when grabbing the silver behind DUKE OF SCOTLAND in the JC McMullen feature. Just behind the placings in the Rising Sun Consolation two starts back, he has the gate to issue a challenge.

THE RAINBOW BEACH (8) can stick to the inside for the shortest way home. Too far back after retreating off the arm last time, he can be probing the openings.

SAINT CRUSADER (6) is the query runner, arriving from the NSW stables of Clayton Harmey as a 13-time winner. Gunned down after leading up last start at Newcastle, he can feature first up.

SELECTIONS: SURE THING CAPTAIN (2), ALTA MAGACIAN (1), THE RAINBOW BEACH (8) SAINT CRUSADER (6)
SUGGESTED BET: SURE THING CAPTAIN (2) to win

RACE FIVE

COVER GIRL (7) will need to overcome the widest gate to chase down her first win in over 12 months. Having not raced in over 12 months; she was only 3m from the winner when resuming. Despite the gate, she can cash in.

WHERE THE BOYS ARE (9) was looking to get remain undefeated since crossing the Tasman when finishing with the bronze behind SOAP OPERA. A winner at her three previous outings, she will be pressing through early for position.

MODERN SHEEN (8) burrowed through from gate 1 to lead all the way last start over the 1780 at Redcliffe. With another chance to tuck in behind the speed, she will be searching for openings.

GINA DEL REY (1) maps for the cosy trip in behind the speed. Asked to grind it out first over here two starts back, the gate is a huge asset.

SELECTIONS: COVER GIRL (7), WHERE THE BOYS ARE (9), MODERN SHEEN (8), GINA DEL REY (1)
SUGGESTED BET: COVER GIRL (7) to win

RACE SIX

BEVERAGE (9)
steps up in grade to battle some experienced performers and is not aided by the second line gate. Finishing best to score from outside the second line at Redcliffe last start, he faced the same gate on debut. With the right cart home, he can stake his claim.

HIGHLY RESPECTED (4) darted through on the passing lane to score at Redcliffe two starts back and followed that with a strong finishing burst last start. She can settle close enough without overworking and that puts her in the right contention.

NASHVILLE BART (2) has some ordinary numbers against his name but might just have found the right conditions to turn the fortunes.

CAPTAIN OH CAPTAIN (5) found them too slippery here last week following a Marburg victory where he was buried in the run. She can feature again

SELECTIONS: BEVERAGE (9), HIGHLY RESPECTED (4), NASHVILLE BART (2), CAPTAIN OH CAPTAIN (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

Taking full advantage of the absence of the higher quality mares, ITS EBONYNIVORY (7) was sent forward and sitting parked was able to graft out the victory. The same gate with similar opposition, this can be a rinse and repeat.

MISS MUCHO (5) ran on strongly in the closing stages last time to get within a head of the winner ITS EBONYNIVORY. Moving in one gate closer, she can look to turn the tables.

MIGHT AS WELL (6) has been freshened since her last appearance when buried in the run and finishing down the line behind TAY TAY. She will be storming home with one run.

MYRA DAWN (8) was pinching inside runs along the passing lane last start when 3rd behind TAIRLAW TOLL. With options from the gate, she is a podium hope.

SUGGESTED BET: ITS EBONYNIVORY (7) to win

ART ON FIRE (6) found ideal conditions at Redcliffe last start when finishing over the top from a second line gate at Redcliffe. Buried the start prior when hitting the line in nice order, with the right trip, he can issue the challenge.

PLAYBOI ROY (7) has hit the board in all six starts since returning from an extended stint on the sidelines. Dictating at Redcliffe last start to post a 6m margin, the gate stings the repeat hope.

DEECEE ROCKIN (10) eased in the early stages last start before rattling home in the stretch o arrive at big odds. He can be joining in late.

SELECTIONS: LA SABINA (1), ART ON FIRE (6), PLAYBOI ROY (7), DEECEE ROCKIN (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

Arriving in Qld in a blaze of glory, IS THAT A BID (5) is two from two here at The Creek and broken track records with both wins. Running a big mile in front when returning from a spell and posting a 54.5 rate at the mobile mile, he can get forward here to chase the repeat.

ADELLE (7) was up to her old tricks last start, making an error to end her chances. Runner-up at both previous outings when beaten a head and a half-head, a return to mobile conditions will help after last week’s error at the tapes.

LOVE GUN (2) was making his first Qld appearance last start from a 20m tape when striking trouble in the run. His sectionals and effort were eye catching and mobile conditions help.

VICTREE HILL (4) has placed in three of his past five, all at Menangle as he heads North for Jarrod Alchin. Making errors at his past two starts, manners will help his chances.

SELECTIONS: IS THAT A BID (5), ADELLE (7), LOVE GUN (2), VICTREE HILL (4)
SUGGESTED BET: IS THAT A BID (5) to win

RACE TEN

BLAZING TART (2)
was first up on this side of the Tasman when sent to the post in red figures and after setting the tempo, was nailed by DEECEE ROCKIN on the line. That was just her second career start and first in two months and with added fitness, she can atone.

MY ULTIMATE FELIX (4) faced gate 6 at Redcliffe last start and was strong to the line when runner-up behind subsequent winner PATH TO GREATNESS. He steps up against the older horses in this mixed maiden and can challenge.

ALLORNOTHINGLEVI (6) is a 3YO resuming from a spell and making his first Qld appearance. Off the back of a tidy trial effort, he stays under watch.

BIG RIG SAINT (7) was runner-up at Redcliffe two starts back in 2YO company and then was not too far from them in the Triad Heat last start.
