Form Analysis by Darren Clayton

RACE ONE

With just the solitary win against his name this season, RED RIGHT HAND (1) looks to have found the right set up to add another to that tally. Buried last week from outside the second line and making good metres late, he secures all the options here to capitalise.

KICK THE SWITCH (10) made the most of an improved gate last time to fire out, take control and see them off. This is the next step up for the 3YO and he cops another tough gate, but with the tempo likely to be genuine, he can be making a closing challenge.

COLLECT A DIME (7) has been in super consistent form and added another minor here last time out when holding 3rd behind MAJOR MOTH. Despite the tough gate, he can be in for the fight.

ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (9) ended a winning drought in the midweeks last start when charging home to score. With the chance to look for the poles, he can be joining in.

SELECTIONS: RED RIGHT HAND (1), KICK THE SWITCH (10), COLLECT A DIME (7), ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (9)
SUGGESTED BET: RED RIGHT HAND (1) to win

RACE TWO

The wide gate is big hurdle to face for FREE THINKER (7) but off recent efforts and where he is headed, this is a race that should be within reach. Claiming The Hayden two starts back, he was strong to the line in the closing stages of the 4YO Championship last start for 3rd.

DUKE OF SCOTLAND (10) was looking to remain undefeated in Aus when taking a big step up to tackle the 4YO champs last start when making an error that ended his night. Winning his previous three in succession, he can bounce back here to throw it down.

ROYAL CRUISER (6) was sent straight to the front in the Derby Consolation last start and controlling the tempo was able to claim a 9m margin in a 55 close out. The wide gate stings.

ROYAL SPEECH (11) was first up in Qld last start when sent forward from a second line gate at this trip to take control and score impressively. This will be a good test of where he is at.

SELECTIONS: FREE THINKER (7), DUKE OF SCOTLAND (10), ROYAL CRUISER (6), ROYAL SPEECH (11)
SUGGESTED BET: REE THINKER (7) to win

RACE THREE

This mare’s qualifier is a strong contest with a number of winning hopes, with tempo and map a vital part of their chances. COVER GIRL (8) will be hoping to map leaders back and under that scenario with added fitness from a first up effort can look to dart through and knock them off.

SHES FULLOFSPIRIT (1) appreciated the drop back to the mid-week circuit last start after tackling some stronger 3YO events through the carnival. Taking them all the way at the middle trip with some strong splits, back to the mile and her own sex can see her issue the challenge.

TORQUE LIKE MOTION (9) is another hat should strip fitter from a first up run and will have the early option of a fence trip to save some pennies. Look for her chiming in.

THE VICAR OF DIBLEY (4) was first up from a spell last time out when making good metres in the closing stages for the bronze. This is another step, but the added fitness is a plus.

SELECTIONS: COVER GIRL (8), SHES FULLOFSPIRIT (1), TORQUE LIKE MOTION (9), THE VICAR OF DIBLEY (4)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-8-9

RACE FOUR

Making an impression first up for the new barn, CURLY JAMES (6) found the front through a sub 27 opening panel, then took the cover before angling off in the stretch to finish best with 2m to spare. Early position looks the only query to him making it back-to-back wins.

JIMARTEE (2) was midfield in the Blacks A Fake last start and could have been closer if not striking trouble in the closing stages. A strong winner of the Sunshine Sprint Consolation the start prior in slick time, he can be close enough to throw down the challenge.

BLACKSADANCE (3) was allowed to balance before pressing forward to take control here last week but could not repel CURLY JAMES in the closing stages. He will not be too far away.

CLASSIE WASHINGTON (1) will be further tightened from his latest offering and lands his best gate this campaign. Tucked in behind, he can be chiming into the minor money.

SELECTIONS: CURLY JAMES (6), JIMARTEE (2), BLACKSADANCE (3), CLASSIE WASHINGTON (1)
SUGGESTED BET: CURLY JAMES (6) to win

RACE FIVE

This looks a tough race to dissect and made no easier by what looks a tricky mapping set up. RAGING SEA (4) started from outside the second line last week and could not get warm in the closing stages behind KICK THE SWITCH. Settling closer from this gate, he might be the one.

BROOKFIELDS BEAUTY (1) started from this gate on Tuesday where she was eased off the inside in the early stages to settle in the running line. This is a big rise from recent assignments, but with the soft trip, she can use her best asset which is her close out speed.

MAJOR SLIIP UP (8) started from the ace last week and with the soft trip behind the speed was able to hold on for the silver. With the chance of the economical trip, he will be probing for gaps.

BEACHRIDE (11) was asked to sit parked last start and despite the tough trip, was still giving to the wire when 3m from the winner. Chasing RESET THE BAR the start prior, he can join in.

SELECTIONS: RAGING SEA (4), BROOKFIELDS BEAUTY (1), MAJOR SLIIP UP (8), BEACHRIDE (11)
SUGGESTED BET: RAGING SEA (4) to win

RACE SIX

First up this season and making his first appearance for the Grimson stable, MAJOR MOTH (6) did not let his supporters down when pressing to the front and power running the 2138 trip in a sharp 1.52.8 run. With added fitness, he can force the issue and look to repeat.

CYA ART (2) returned from a spell here last week when fired off the arm from gate 3 to look for a dictating win but running out of tokens in the stretch. Gripping on for the bronze, he will strip fitter from the run and can be close enough to issue the challenge.

MYMATEPOG (1) powered home over the top of them from a second line gate here last week to claim a deserved win after some sectionally super efforts of late. The gate is a huge plus.

TARGARYEN (4) was brave in defeat last start when forced to do the heavy lifting outside the leader and only fishing 4m from the winner. He can be thereabouts once again.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR MOTH (6), CYA ART (2), MYMATEPOG (1), TARGARYEN (4)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

Bouncing back to winning form last start, JEWEL MELODY (2) can look to go on with it again here and finds the right conditions to grab another victory here at The Creek. Pressing on with it from gate 7 last start, she was too strong in grinding out the margin and can lay it down again.

SKY BLU (8) was locked away three back along the inside from this same gate last time out and was trying to make a closing raid when 5m astern of the winner SISTA BLISS. Tackling much tougher company the start prior, she will be probing for openings here.

IM DESIRABLE (4) started fav here last week when eased from gate 5 to find position. Unable to really warm into the task, she was 6m from the winner. She can be thereabouts.

BETTOR ROMANCE (9) is never too far from the actions and last start the closing temp made it impossible to make ground. With the right cart through, she can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: JEWEL MELODY (2), SKY BLU (8), IM DESIRABLE (4), BETTOR ROMANCE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: JEWEL MELODY (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

SOAP OPERA (3)
was much sharper here two starts back when darting through along the passing lane to grab the silver. Nothing went right here last week, a flat tyre and traffic issue hampering her chances when still not too far from JEWEL MELODY. This looks within reach.

WHERE THE BOYS ARE (10) is a 3YO stepping up against the older mares but brings a hat-trick of victories. Taking them all the way last start over the 2138 in a strong running effort, she will be chasing here but has the winning confidence to issue the challenge.

THE VIXEN (6) arrives for Amanda Turnbull off the back of a last start 3rd at Bathurst over 2260. A beaten fav when setting the speed in that, she is a podium player off the tough gate.

AURORA JOY (9) scored here three starts back when charging home in the closing stages. Luckless here last week, with the right trip, she can make a closing raid.

SELECTIONS: SOAP OPERA (3), WHERE THE BOYS ARE (10), THE VIXEN (6), AURORA JOY (9)
SUGGESTED BET: SOAP OPERA (3) to win

RACE NINE

A small field size will be to the benefit of ITS EBONYNIVORY (7) who continues to draw tough gates. Just 5m from TAY TAY last start when attacking the line strongly from the rear, the start prior she was luckless. This looks her chance to return to winning form.

MISS MUCHO (6) was working early from the wide gate last start and was game in a slick close out from the front when chasing home EYE KEEP SMILING. Just a half-neck away here three starts back, the small field and opposition puts her right in the frame here.

CHEER LEADER (3) tackled open company mares last time when 7m from the winner TAY TAY. Chasing home behind FREE THINKER in The Hayden the start prior, she has claims here.

PLAYA BLANCA (1) was 3m astern of the winner last start when locked away on the poles and just missed a minor. With the soft trip, she can chime in again here.

SELECTIONS: ITS EBONYNIVORY (7), MISS MUCHO (6), CHEER LEADER (3), PLAYA BLANCA (1)
SUGGESTED BET: ITS EBONYNIVORY (7) to win

RACE TEN

Making a closing raid here two starts back in the G1 Trotters Cup, ADELLE (6) went within a half-head of victory behind LONDON TO A BRICK. Angling back to the passing lane last start when running IS THAT A BID to a head in a new track record, a safe start can see her round them up.

LOVE GUN (7) is a newcomer to the Qld trotting ranks, joining the Jack Butler barn and arriving a 14-time winner. Freshened since his last outing at Melton when down the line behind HESALLMUSCLE, he has trialled in nice order for his first Qld appearance.

MAJESTIC HARRY (1) was too slick in the latter stages last time out to claim a mobile victory at the 2138. 3rd to GUS in the DJA final three starts back, a safe start from the front is a big plus.

FUNNY FACE (5) will appreciate a few less horses to get around after trying to chase in capacity fields across the carnival.

SELECTIONS: ADELLE (6), LOVE GUN (7), MAJESTIC HARRY (1), FUNNY FACE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: ADELLE (6) to win
