Form Analysis by Luke Humphreys

Race 1:

OVERVIEW: CONISTON (8) was unbeaten at the trials and scored on debut before taking on three-year-olds last week. He was a big drifter and finished third but wasn’t disgraced and is suited returning to the Sunraysia. The Aaron Dunn prepared debutantes in JILPANGER ROSE (1) and WICKED HANGOVER (7) are the dangers with TO THE NINES (2), PERFECT PEACH (3) and PERFECT PLAYGIRL (4) next best.

EARLY SPEED: 1 (Leader?), 2? 4, 5?

SELECTIONS: CONISTON (8), JILPANGER ROSE (1), WICKED HANGOVER (7), TO THE NINES (2)

RATINGS: 8 / 1 / 7 / 2 / 4 / 3 / 5 / 6

SUGGESTED BET: Flexi First 4 1, 7, 8 / 1, 7, 8 / 1, 7, 8 / 2, 3, 4 ($20 gets 111.11%)

Race 2:

OVERVIEW: KATHYS FREE (5) is one of two smart three-year-old fillies prepared down south in this event and her minor placing two starts back at Melton splitting Rockandance and Settebello is great form for this race. SHES A TINY DANCER (6) comes into this following a Maryborough trial victory on Sunday. JILLIBY TYPHOON (2) has the draw whilst OUR ART WORK (8) should not be forgotten.

EARLY SPEED: 1? 2 (Leader?), 3, 4, 5, 6?

SELECTIONS: KATHYS FREE (5), SHES A TINY DANCER (6), JILLIBY TYPHOON (2), OUR ART WORK (8)

RATINGS: 5 / 6 / 2 / 8 / 3 / 4 / 7 / 1

SUGGESTED BET: Boxed First 4 2, 5, 6, 8

Race 3:

OVERVIEW: SMOKESCREEN (5) was able to overcome the widest barrier last week at Ballarat when breaking through for a deserved victory. Heading to the Sunraysia he looks a good chance of doubling up. WHATS GLENDA GOT (3) is a debutante from the in-form Sally Hardy stable and motored to the finish at her most recent trial. AMERICAN BOXER (4) and FOXY TWO GLOVES (7) rate next.

EARLY SPEED: 4 (Leader)

SELECTIONS: SMOKESCREEN (5), WHATS GLENDA GOT (3), AMERICAN BOXER (4), FOXY TWO GLOVES (7)

RATINGS: 5 / 3 / 4 / 7 / 9 / 2 / 1 / 8

SUGGESTED BET: Flexi First 4 5 / 3, 4, 7 / 3, 4, 7 / 3, 4, 7 ($20 gets 333.33%)

Race 4:

OVERVIEW: SUNFINE (3) is a decent enough front runner as he showed when winning at Cranbourne four back. His subsequent runs have been against stronger, and he looks well placed from the draw on debut for Zac Steenhuis. DEEWHY (8) needs to reverse the form of his last couple, but he is good enough on his day. POWERHIT PASCOE (5) and SPORTY PHILTRA (9) rate next.

EARLY SPEED: 3 (Leader?), 5, 6

SELECTIONS: SUNFINE (3), DEEWHY (8), POWERHIT PASCOE (5), SPORTY PHILTRA (9)

RATINGS: 3 / 8 / 5 / 9 / 11 / 2 / 1 / 10 / 4 / 6 / 7

SUGGESTED BET: SUNFINE (3) Each-Way

Race 5:

OVERVIEW: WHOS WATCHING LILY (1) has only won once but she has always had some ability and she gets her chance from the draw first-up for the Prothero yard. OZZIE GEM (4) is a juvenile filly taking on the older horses, but she must be given a chance regardless. BEEJAYS STAR (4) has a great course record and MISS BALLYMENA (8) and ABSTRACTOR (9) rate next.

EARLY SPEED: 1 (Leader?), 2, 3, 4, 5?

SELECTIONS: WHOS WATCHING LILY (1), OZZIE GEM (4), BEEJAYS STAR (3), MISS BALLYMENA (8)

RATINGS: 1 / 4 / 3 / 8 / 9 / 6 / 5 / 2 / 7

SUGGESTED BET: Flexi First 4 1, 3, 4 / 1, 3, 4 / 1, 3, 4 / 8, 9 ($20 gets 166.66%)

Race 6:

OVERVIEW: HEART OF COOPER (7) rarely runs a bad race and from a ratings perspective he won’t find too many easier races than this, so he gets his chance to score despite the sticky barrier draw. WHATA OPTIMIST (2) has been close-up since joining Aaron Coad and rates highly as does LETSGO MATILDA (3) from a much better barrier. MY LINE OF FIRE (4) rates next.

EARLY SPEED: 1, 2, 3 (Leader?), 6

SELECTIONS: HEART OF COOPER (7), WHATA OPTIMIST (2), LETSGO MATILDA (3), MY LINE OF FIRE (4)

RATINGS: 7 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 9 / 6 / 1 / 8 / 5

SUGGESTED BET: HEART OF COOPER (7) Each-Way

Race 7:

OVERVIEW: DHAULAGIRI (9) has been racing in fine form this preparation with plenty of good efforts at this venue and down at Melton in good metropolitan races so he is probably the hardest to beat but he will still need to earn it from the highest barrier. Similar comments can be said for TWISTED BLISS (5) whilst DAYLIGHT AT DAWN (8) looks the best of the locals over OZZIE PUNTA (3).

EARLY SPEED: 2, 3 (Leader?), 4? 6?

SELECTIONS: DHAULAGIRI (9), TWISTED BLISS (5), DAYLIGHT AT DAWN (8), OZZIE PUNTA (3)

RATINGS: 9 / 5 / 8 / 3 / 6 / 4 / 1 / 2 / 7

SUGGESTED BET: DAYLIGHT AT DAWN (8) Each-Way

Race 8:

OVERVIEW: ILLUSTRIOUS (1) has led throughout in two runs at this venue and looks likely to make it three from the ace draw. He will also find this easier than his most recent effort at Melton. ONLY ONCE BITTEN (7) gets the lovely draw to run a place whilst MATADOR (8) may also head to the pegs. ROCKIN GEMMA (9) and SHADOW TERROR (3) rate next.

EARLY SPEED: 1 (Leader), 6

SELECTIONS: ILLUSTRIOUS (1), ONLY ONCE BITTEN (7), MATADOR (8), ROCKIN GEMMA (9)

RATINGS: 1 / 7 / 8 / 9 / 3 / 5 / 11 / 10 / 2 / 6

SUGGESTED BET: Flexi First 4 1 / 7, 8 / 7, 8 / 3, 9 ($20 gets 500%)

Race 9:

OVERVIEW: LE SPARTACUS (2) is one of the more consistent horses in the region and his last run in a race at this level was his most recent victory so with a big drop back in grade he is clearly the one to beat from a draw that can see him settle wherever he likes. MAGGACIS (4), AMYS BABY ANGEL (5) and DEADLINE (11) rate next.

EARLY SPEED: 3, 5 (Leader?)

SELECTIONS: LE SPARTACUS (2), MAGGACIS (4), AMYS BABY ANGEL (5), DEADLINE (11)

RATINGS: 2 / 4 / 5 / 11 / 6 / 10 / 1 / 8 / 9 / 3 / 7

SUGGESTED BET: LE SPARTACUS (2) Each-Way

Race 10:

OVERVIEW: OUR MASTER PLAY (4) should have gone close to winning last week and this is slightly easier, and he hasn’t drawn too badly either and he is a class runner in this type of race at his best. IM STUCK MAN (11) was too good from the death last week but has the highest barrier this time. SHIREEN (7) and BOHEMIAN BRAIDS (3) rate next.

EARLY SPEED: 3, 4 (Eventual Leader?), 6

SELECTIONS: OUR MASTER PLAY (4), IM STUCK MAN (11), SHIREEN (7), BOHEMIAN BRAIDS (3)

RATINGS: 4 / 11 / 7 / 3 / 9 / 2 / 6 / 5 / 10 / 1 / 8

SUGGESTED BET: OUR MASTER PLAY (4) Each-Way

Race 11:

OVERVIEW: MCARDOM (1) looks a great chance for Luke Dunne and Tori Hutchins if able to hold up from the inside gate. He is third-up in this race and he does look suited. CHOGI (3) has been a model of consistency since joining the Tormey stable and is the obvious danger whilst DAYSIE BROWN (6) isn’t the worst and BRANSON (9) is searching for a hat-trick

EARLY SPEED: 1 (Leader?), 2, 3, 4

SELECTIONS: MCARDOM (1), CHOGI (3), DAYSIE BROWN (6), BRANSON (9)

RATINGS: 1 / 3 / 6 / 9 / 2 / 8 / 11 / 10 / 4 / 5 / 7

SUGGESTED BET: MCARDOM (1) Each-Way
