Form Analysis by Craig Rail

Race 1:

OVERVIEW: JUMPINGJOY (7) settled in a rearward position and finished off swiftly when an eye-catching third behind Browniesatmidnight at Terang last outing. She is a talented filly and should go well despite the wide draw. PARK LANE (2) led throughout and won clearly at Melton last outing. He is a good chance of finding the lead again and will take catching. LUVA SCRAP (11) is resuming since a second behind Celebrity Royal in Breeders Crown Silver event in November. He has finished fourth in two Melton trial efforts recently and he has the class to feature prominently. ROYLANCE (1) did well after parking on the outside of the leader at his latest second and is worth thought from the pole position.

Race 2:

OVERVIEW: CHAPPY STREETNORTH (4) has gait issues occasionally but he is a handy type when he can do everything right and he should prove hard to beat under these conditions. He shot to the lead in the early stages and ran along at a genuine tempo when third behind He’s From Heaven in a slick mile rate of 1.55.9 last week. HOPES CHOICE (10) is racing consistently and was held up for a run at a vital stage when she finished off well for fourth at Echuca last outing. She should gain an economical run from the trailing draw and is worth a ticket each way. TERROR EYES (11) is rising in class on his latest victory but he was impressive and he defeated Kardesler, which has won since at Cranbourne, so he could take the next step forward. BAKERS BANDIT (3) hasn’t raced since November 2022 but he was an impressive trial winner at Melton recently and is not without a chance.

He has since been placed at a Melton trial performance and is worth another chance. GOODTIME LOUIS (1) has been placed at his past six starts and is drawn to receive every chance. OVERVIEW: KOMODO (9) was resuming since a fifth in a heat of the New South Wales Derby when fourth at Horsham. He should be fitter from that run and possesses a powerful finishing burst so he must be respected. MARTY THE MARTIAN (1) settled in a rearward position and finished off solidly for third at Ballarat last outing. He has been placed at his past four starts, including a victory in a mile rate of 1.55.9 so he should prove hard to beat from the pole position. OVERVIEW: SWEETNIKKILOU (5) is a very classy filly, which is resuming since March and will be extremely hard to beat. She impressively won a trial at Melton last week and she beat some very smart colts during her last preparation. NETRA (2) is another very good filly that should make her presence. She has been racing at Metropolitan level and has the early speed to find the lead in the early stages of the event. ELUSIVE (7) has also been racing well in strong company and has the speed to be in the finish. She pushed forward to find the lead and scored nicely in a mile rate of 1.55.1 at Maryborough three starts ago. STRAPPING RED (6) possesses early speed and is racing consistently so she is worth a place ticket.

He finished seventh in the Metropolitan Pace Final last outing and was placed at his four attempts prior. KRAFTY CANDY (4) is a speedy filly that is better than her form reads. She was placed in a slick mile rate of 1.54.5 at Bendigo on May 14. STEEL RULER (8) dragged a flat tyre and was pulled out of the race at Terang last time. He finished off fast to win over Fourth In Line (won since) prior and he should be finishing off quickly against this class. GOODTIME OSCAR (1) is a minor place chance from the pole position.

OVERVIEW: THE REGULATOR (1) gained a nice trail and finished off best to defeat Foregone Conclusion two starts ago. He is ideally drawn over the very short distance and is a big chance of winning again. STRAWBERRY BLING (3) ran a handy third at Bendigo three starts ago and she showed very good gate speed at her latest attempt so she is worth an investment. HARLEY BLUE (8) is terribly drawn but she will appreciate a significant drop back in class for this assignment and should be finishing off strongly. JACKIERABBIT (5) has performed very well over the 1200m previously and is capable of improving on his numerical form.

EARLY SPEED: 3 (possible leader), 2,5
