This week?s arrival of boom Kiwi pacer Light And Sound headlines the latest Australasian Breeders Crown update.

?

The glamour three-year-old will join the Ted Demmler stable in readiness for his assault on the Bendigo riches.

?

Trainer Mark Purdon has ruled out a Queensland Derby sortie in preference for the Victorian campaign.

?

After winning over $300,000 in stakes and pacing a 1:55.8 mile as a juvenile, the budding superstar was struck down by a fractured knee in the off season.

?

His three runs back this term have yielded a narrow last start second in the New Zealand Derby behind Elsu.

?

Under Demmler?s guidance connections are striving to build the foundation for a successful Breeders Crown campaign with a couple of ?easy kills? over the next few months.

?

Light And Sound joins fellow NZ Derby placegetter Howard Bromac on this side of the Tasman.

?

The talented stayer is already acclimatising in Melbourne with a brief freshen-up following his recent New South Wales Derby campaign.

?

In other news from the Shaky Isles, Tony Herlihy reports that Bellas Boy (pictured) is on target for his attempt to become the first pacer to win an Australasian Breeders Crown at two and three.

?

The Victoria Derby champion is back in work and set to resume in mid-July.

?

With the Auckland heat of the 3YO colts and geldings series programmed for 27 June, Bellas Boy looks set to arrive in early August in a bid to qualify in one of the Victorian heats.

?

On the local front, Albert Kelly showed the Kiwi raiders that they won?t have things all their own way with a slashing win in the Vicbred Super Series 3YO Colts & Geldings Final at Geelong.

?

Victory in the Group 1 feature took the Bernie Kelly bred, owned and trained pacer?s record to 11 starts for nine wins and $101,535 in stakes.

?

The Wagga pacer led home a Breeders Crown trifecta in the $100,000 feature with fellow acceptors Dominator Stride (NSW) and Maggies Son (VIC) filling the minor placings.

?

In the Vicbred 3YO Fillies Final, last season?s Breeders Crown placegetter Fleur Moreau showed that she?ll once again be a serious player with a gallant second to Ashlees Babe.

?

From barrier 13 she was forced to do a bevy of work three wide yet still managed to rate a personal 1:57.6 mile, one-tenth of a second inside the old 2100 metre track record.

?

On Thursday night at Terang, flying filly Melpark Sunrise upstaged the older horses in the prestigious $8000 Tontine Trotters Final.

?

Placed in last season?s Breeders Crown 2YO Final behind Kyvalley Road, Melpark Sunrise now boasts the enviable record of 24 starts for 12 wins, 10 placings and $57,445 in stakes.

?

As her build-up to the Breeders Crown in August continues she looks to have a mortgage on the $30,000 Victoria Trotters Oaks (Group 1) on Saturday week (14 June) at Moonee Valley.

?

North of the border and the Graeme Watts-trained Te Kanarama has been all the talking point after his slashing 1:57.1 win at Harold Park last Friday.

?

Unbeaten in three starts, the Panorama three-year-old is bound for the NSW Sires Series en route to the Breeders Crown where he?ll line-up against Light And Sound, Bellas Boy, Albert Kelly and Howard Bromac.

?

On the same program, the Breeders Crown eligible filly Winmara Lass unleashed a barnstorming finish for Wayne Innes to capture the first of two NSW 3YO Fillies Sires Semis.

?

She?ll be major player in the $100,000 Group 1 final this Friday night.

?

Other Breeders Crown winners throughout the past week include London Legend (Auckland ? 3YO pacer), Letaba (Port Pirie ? 2YO pacer), Szarbo (Shepparton ? 3YO pacer), Classic Merv (Maryborough ? 2YO pacer), Equity Al (Charlton ? 3YO pacer), Bodhisattva (Terang ? 2YO pacer), Sarahs Spirit (Yarra Valley ? 2YO pacer), Doyawantitagain (Terang ? 3YO pacer), 2002 Breeders Crown runner-up Julies Equity (Ballarat ? 3YO pacer), Adalbert (Shepparton ? 3YO pacer), Ricochet Beauty (Shepparton ? 3YO trotter) and Jilliby Butterfly (Terang ? 3YO pacer).
