THERE is still more than half-a-million dollars in Carnival of Cups bonuses up for grabs.

With four more rounds of the circuit to go, $750,000 in bonus cash is still on offer.

Quality pacer Swayzee is on target for the $1million Carnival of Cups bonus having won the first leg of the series, The Dish, at Parkes on September 20 and is on target for the next four Cups in an aim to earn the major prize.

Those Cups are:

  • The $60,000 Cherry City Cup at Young on November 8
  • The $60,000 Tamworth City Cup at Tamworth on January 17
  • The $60,000 Murray Cup at Albury on February 14
  • The $60,000 Renshaw Cup at Penrith on March 14

A horse that can win the last four of the Carnival of Cups will be given a $500,000 bonus and a horse that can win three of these features will earn a $250,000 bonus.

In a major coup for the Tamworth City Cup early next year, leviathan owner Kevin Seymour is considering racing his star pacer Leap To Fame in the feature.

“We’re looking at whether we will take him down to Tamworth for the Tamworth Cup,” Seymour revealed.

“Not confirmed at this stage but always a possibility.”

Leap To Fame is no stranger to Tamworth, having won a heat of the Breeders Challenge there as a three-year-old where he rated 1:54.3 for the mile journey.

Meanwhile, Group winner and Eureka starter My Ultimate Ronnie is being targeted at the Tamworth Cup also.

My Ultimate Ronnie has been sidelined since December last year due to a minor setback, hence why he is missing the upcoming Inter Dominion series in his home state. However, trainer Jarrod Alchin has earmarked the last three Carnival of Cups features for the entire in a bid to collect the $250,000 bonus on offer.

Alchin won the Tamworth City Cup earlier this year with Missed The Truth.
