ALTHOUGH thriving since arriving in South Australia, Magic Storm is expected to have  trouble extending her winning streak this weekend.

A well-travelled pacer, Magic Storm began her journey in New South Wales before being transferred to Victoria and then finding herself in SA.

Boasting a perfect record from seven starts since joining the team of astute horseman Tyson Linke, the daughter of Village Jolt had only managed a solitary victory from her 30 previous outings.

"She's been a great buy," Linke said. "So far she hasn't set a hoof wrong and is exceeding expectations.

"We've got seven new owners who are having a blast with her, which is always good for the industry.

"She's a lovely mare to deal with as well, which is a bonus."

As for her pending assignment, Magic Storm will return to Port Pirie tomorrow night, where she has drawn barrier seven - inside of the second row.

To be driven by leading reinsman Wayne Hill, the six-year-old is a prohibitive $1.20 favourite, with Sheza Manipulator considered the main danger at $3.

Another enjoying life as a 'Croweater', Sheza Manipulator won her first eight starts after arriving from New Zealand and has been among the placegetters during her past two outings.

With Hill's fiancé Samantha Pascoe to take the reins, Sheza Manipulator will begin from gate six.

"She's got a terrible draw, but it's what I was expecting," Linke said. "She will need luck from there, so we will have to see what happens early.

"Sheza Manipulator is the one to beat, but I think there are a few serious chances and there is a fair bit of speed on the front row, so anything could happen."
