BRAD Hewitt’s first trotter has given him Australia's Trotting Masters success.

Former Kiwi trotter Majestic Trio led home a NSW quinella with Doff the Cap second in the fourth leg of Australia’s Trotting Masters, the $100,000 Group 1 Prydes Easifeed Queensland Trotters’ Cup at Albion Park last Saturday night.

Majestic Trio’s 100 points for winning took him into fourth spot on the Trotting Masters points tables behind globetrotting star Just Believe (260 points), I'm Ready Jet (140) and Aldebaran Zeus (120).

The two remaining legs of the Trotting Masters are the Aldebaran Park Bill Collins Sprint at Melton on October 14 and the Inter Dominion Trotting Final at Albion Park on December 16.

It was a brilliant drive from Hewitt to find room when it mattered from their pegs and storm to a 4.6m win over the Jarrod Alchin-trained Doff Your Cap.

Like many of Hewitt’s horses, his friend and Canberra Raiders NRL star Jarrod Croker is a part-owner.

Five-year-old mare Majestic Trio took her record in Australia with Hewitt to an impressive 13 starts for six wins and four placings.

She hinted at feature race success back on May 6 when second to glamour Victorian mare Queen Elida in the Group 1 Macarthur Mile at Menangle.

“Yes, she’s the first trotter we’ve had and what a pick-up she’s been,” Hewitt said.
