Harness Racing New South Wales (HRNSW) extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Doug Tuckwell, a respected member of the harness racing community who recently passed away.

Born in North Richmond in the picturesque Kurrajong Hills, Doug dedicated much of his life to the sport he loved. In his later years, he relocated to the Central West, settling in Canowindra, where he continued his involvement in harness racing as a licensed trainer, owner, and driver.

Doug was known for his passion and commitment to the industry, working with a small team of horses throughout his career. Among them, his most notable was Garrys Lad, a horse that brought him considerable pride.

Doug Tuckwell will be fondly remembered for his contribution to harness racing and also the Canowindra community. HRNSW acknowledges his contribution to the sport and offers its sincerest sympathies to the Tuckwell family during this time of loss.
