HIGHLY-RATED prospect Magic Storm will face her 'acid test' tomorrow night.
Thriving since arriving in South Australia last March, Magic Storm has registered nine wins and three seconds from 12 outings for astute horseman Tyson Linke, including seven consecutive victories.
As such, the daughter of Village Jolt has become one of the state's most promising mares.
"She has done a terrific job since she got here," Linke said. "We certainly couldn't ask for much more from her.
"She's done a good job beating up the lower grades, but tomorrow night will be a step up for her...it'll be her acid test."
Engaged in the Mares' Classic at Globe Derby, Magic Storm will compete against the likes of accomplished open class performers Delightful Tammy and Honeybun.
To be driven by Wayne Hill, Magic Storm has drawn barrier four, which has resulted in her being listed as a $3 second favourite.
Delightful Tammy heads the market at $1.70 despite her outside of the front row starting position.
"Delightful Tammy is clearly the one to beat," Linke said. "She's got the record on the board and is in top form.
"Honeybun would be my next pick as she's proven herself against better class pacers."
