It was a top weekend for trainer Tammy Langley and her son, driver Dylan Ford.

Langley trained four winners at Friday night’s meeting in Burnie before a further two winners at Carrick Park on Sunday.

Ford was able to notch up a driving double at King Island on Boxing Day, three winners in Burnie before having a day out with five winners at Carrick Park.

However, Dylan wasn’t in the sulky for Langley’s feature race win of the weekend, with Dylan’s cousin Nathan partnering Sneaky Peak ($6.50) to a 10.2m win in the Kevin Redpath North West Plate Final (2180m) at the Burnie meeting.

The six-year-old gelded son of Hes Watching produced a brilliant beginning from outside of the front-row and was confidently driven to find the lead after the first 300m, and raced away from his rivals over the final 400m to defeat Ranieri ($61) and Done Well ($2.40).

The win was the pacers 10th career win in an 86-start career.

Dylan was in the sulky for the Langley stable’s other winners, including Pistol Queen ($11), Diamondsnblue ($3.80), who was first up in the state, and Impulse ($6.00).

The Langley stable then produced Art Major colt Horatius Speculo to win on debut in a two-year-old maiden at Carrick Park, with the pacer scoring a nine-metre win to the joy of punters, with the colt being backed in to start at $2.35.

The pair also won with Hammer Dan ($3.60), who was first up from Victoria.

Dylan’s other Carrick Park winners included the Dean Braun-trained duo James In Charge ($1.24 fav)  and Mach Major ($2.70 fav), along with the Wayne Yole-trained Diamonds N Cash.

Ford finished the season with 61 winners, his second-best in the sulky, and finished second to Rohan Hillier on the state drivers title.

For Langley, she ended 2024 with 72 winners, her best in five seasons of training, and was the state’s leading female trainer.
