HRNSW advises that an interim suspension has today been imposed on the licences of Jack Brown and Lucas Rando after DNA analysis was conducted by the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine on the urine samples provided by both drivers at the Goulburn Harness Racing Club meeting on 21 October 2024.

The Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine found that it is “180 million times more likely” that samples obtained from Mr Brown and Mr Rando, “originated from the same individual than from an unrelated person chosen at random from the population”.

The interim suspension will remain in place until written show cause submissions are provided to HRNSW outlining why the suspension shouldn’t remain in place until such time as an inquiry into the matter is concluded.
