LEVIATHAN owner Kevin Seymour still strongly wants Leap To Fame to defend his Inter Dominion crown.

Just when all seemed lost, the champion pacer has enjoyed a good week back home at trainer Grant Dixon's property.

Dixon, who has been in Christchurch all week with wife Trista and pacer Aroda, said a final call would be made early next week.

"Things sound good. Our vet has gone right over him and can't find anything," he said.

"He seems back to himself, but we are mindful he did before his blood levels were up again last time.

"Trista and I just want to get home and have some time with him."

"We'll get him scoped on Monday and then we'll speak to Kevin and decide where we go, the Inter Dominion or for a little break."

"Kevin is keen to go to the Inter Dominion, but that's obviously providing we're confident the horse is spot on."

Leap To Fame has missed both the Victoria and NZ Cups because of unsatisfactory blood tests.

He hasn't raced since winning a free-for-all at Menangle on October 26.

The NSW Inter Dominion starts with heats at Newcastle on Friday week.

The $500,000 final is at Menangle on December 14.
