The Greg and Skye Bond trained Street Hawk NZ added the $30,000 York Cup to his resume on Saturday night when Deni Roberts drove the five-year-old to victory after starting from barrier eight on the 20m handicap over the 2560m trip at Northam.

Driven by Team Bonds lead driver Deni Roberts on the night, the lightly raced son of champion sire Bettors Delight has had just the 33 starts, with 11 wins and 11 placings to his name, and stakes to now just over $175,000.

Street Hawk NZ made his way to Team Bond in early 2022 after two wins in New Zealand, and after a very impressive WA debut and a string of five wins on the trot, Street Hawk has placed in numerous age restricted features at Gloucester park including a third placing in the 2022 3YO Western Gateway (Group 2) and placing second in the Chandon 4YO Classic (Group 3), he later went on to win the Gr3 Preux Chevalier 4YO Classic in March 2023.

Having just his third start this season, he’s now made it two wins, with the listed Glenroy Chaff York Cup injecting a further $17,226 to his purse.

Runner-up Feeling Aces further promotes what a fabulous buy he was, with the low-priced buy adding another feature placing to his name.

Feeling Aces ran second just last month in the $35,000 listed Narrogin Pacing Cup behind Pinny Tiger.

Since making his way to Matt Scott in February 2023, he has had 57 starts for the stable, promoting the tenacity and strength of the standardbred, winning nine times now for the Matt Scott stable, including taking out the Williams Cup at just start three for his new connections.

Feeling Aces has now had 99 career starts for 15 wins and 22 placings and stakes now in excess of $130,000.

Shannon Suvaljko drove a treble on the night, with Bettors Pride opening the meeting with a win in the three-year-old event. Trained by Mike Reed, the debutante comes from a nice line of horses, including the almost million dollar earning Expensive Ego, who is a half brother to the gelding.

Jades Fortune took out the second on the card, with the Tracy Reay trained eight-year-old leading all the way for Emily Suvaljko.

Colin Brown and Deni Roberts joined forces on the night with a combined double, with Its Justa Shotaway leading all the way in race three.

They then reunited in the winner’s circle in the last with Relatively Arma taking out the three-year-old fillies’ event ahead of race favourite, Loch Tay.

Roberts walked away from Saturday’s meeting with a driving treble.

Win two of three for Shannon Suvaljko came about in race four when You Fly With Me NZ got the cash for trainer Debbie Padberg.

The win lead into a race-to-race double for the reinsman, with High Price taking out race five on the card for trainer Garry Sayers.

Absolute Delight took out race six for Michael Young and Gary Hall Jnr, with the six-year-old mares record now three wins from 15 starts for the stable, as well as a further three placings in just under three months for the stable.
