BRILLIANT European import Callmethebreeze snatched back the lead in the Australian Trotting Masters’ series with his arrogant win in last night’s $100,000 Group 1 Hammerhead Trotters’ Mile at Menangle.

With Aussie champ Just Believe resting at home, Callmethebreeze led throughout and toyed with his rivals for his third win from just five Down Under starts, two of them at Group 1 level.

The win earned him 100 points to give him a 60-point lead over Just Believe after three legs of the Trotting Masters series.

Callmethebreeze leads with 220 points from Just Believe (160).
Arcee Phoenix, who lost all chance with an early gallop in the Hammerhead, finished seventh and gained just four points.

He sits third on the table with 74 points.

The next leg of the series isn’t until the $100,000 Group 1 Queensland Trotters’ Cup at Albion Park on July 27.

Callmethebreeze trotted a slick 1min51.3sec mile to win at Menangle, but it was his closing splits which really turned heads.

The son of Trixton blasted home in 54.4 and 26.8sec.
“We’re all still learning about him, but the master (trainer Anton Golino) knows what to do,” driver Nathan Jack said.

“We changed a few things, and he was great tonight; he was so relaxed in front. He actually waited a bit for them at the top of the (home) straight, so he might need a pair of pull-ups or something at some stage, but I’m happy when he’s relaxed."

“I’ve fallen in love with him. Look at him; he’s easy to fall in love with.”
