Tasmania will once again participate in the Team Teal campaign, which commences in Launceston on Friday night.
The campaign commenced across Australasia on Thursday, with all female drivers wearing teal-coloured driving pants from now until 15 March, with several racing bodies and sponsors donating funds to ANZGOG’s gynaecological cancer clinical research and education programs to advance research and save lives.
Tasracing has committed $200 for each winner by the ambassadors and female drivers in Tasmania.
This year, Tammy Langley will be Tasmania’s trainer ambassador, her daughter Tiarna Ford will be the driving ambassador, and Tayla Spring will be the ambassador for the Mini Trots.
Langley will be looking to get on the board in race 3 with Ima Socialite, who will be looking to bounce back into the winner’s list on the strength of a last-start second at Carrick when defeated 1.7m by Theuglysister.
The Langley stable also has strong chances across the card with Cliffhanger in race 4 and Mister Finnigan in race 8, who has won two of his last three starts. Both will be driven by Tammy’s son, Dylan Ford.
It has been a great start to the season for Langley, preparing 13 winners, which sees her sit equal fifth on the Australian trainers’ premiership after the first month of the season.
Friday’s eight-race card will be shown on Sky Racing 2 and TasracingTV, with the first race scheduled for 17:58.
