The first of Harness Racing New South Wales’ reimagined Carnival of Cups series will take place at Cowra Showgrounds this Sunday.

Marking one year since floods devastated the region, causing havoc to the track and facilities, this weekend will be a positive lift for the community.

The free-ticketed event will see Australian music icons The Whitlams and Daryl Braithwaite co-headline the entertainment offering trackside and the racing will also be top class with the introduction of the $60,000 TAB Lachlan Valley Cup.

This feature race for open-class pacers is attached to a Carnival of Cups bonus, where the winner will have a chance to earn a $300,000 bonus. Click here to find out more on the Carnival of Cups Bonus.

Outside of ‘Cup Day’, the blockbuster weekend starts on Saturday morning with the Carnival of Cups Junior Rugby League Clinic, hosted by HRNSW with NRL greats Josh Reynolds, Jarrod Croker, Jordan Rapana, Sam Williams and Zac Woolford facilitating the morning at Sid Kallas Oval.

Following this, the ‘Trots, Tries and Tales’ Sports Lunch will be held at Club Cowra, hosted by FOX Sports Australia media personality and HRNSW Board Member Yvonne Sampson along with Reynolds, Croker and Rapana.

The new TAB Lounge at Club Cowra will also be officially launched.

“We are really proud to offer this integrated community effort in Cowra and make it a weekend to remember,” said HRNSW chief executive Peter Buckman.

“We’re committed to Cowra and building it as a destination event in coming years.”
