Trophy - The Eureka

THE world's richest harness race has a trophy befitting its amazing purse.

The trophy for the $2.1mil TAB Eureka - to be run at Club Menangle on September 2 - has been unveiled. And it is spectacular.

Inspired by the wheel of a sulky, the masterpiece proudly features the TAB Eureka logo and has been crafted over eight months by the artisans at Renowned Silverware in Victoria.

Part of the centrepiece is a constellation of six stars, which represent each of the six states involved in establishing a race that has truly united Australian harness racing.

All six states will have key and varying roles in the inaugural TAB Eureka on September 2.

The TAB Eureka trophy is hand-crafted in solid brass, while the "sulky wheel" arch is 24ct gold plated, and the Eureka band features a dimple effect that was hand-hammered over two days.

The trophy is mounted on stainless steel, with a wooden plinth base for strength as it weighs over 10 kilograms and is presented in a custom-made base.

As well as winning the world's richest harness race, the victorious connections will also take home a spectacular trophy to commemorate the achievement.
