Rio Cobra Sulky

Due to two recent incidents involving Rio Cobra sulkies in Queensland, Harness Racing Australia (HRA) has taken the decision, in conjunction with the manufacturer (Garrard’s) and the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) to suspend the use of these sulkies until further investigations and testing can be completed at the HRA testing laboratory in Geelong.

HRA understands the impact of this decision on those participants who use these particular sulkies, however the safety of drivers and horses is paramount.

Testing will be completed as soon as practicable, and the industry advised of further news as it becomes available.

For more information, please contact HRA on 03 9227 3000.
