Art Major, with over 1300 Australasian winners, including Miracle Mile winner My Field Marshall, Victoria Cup winner For A Reason, Victorian Derby winner Sushi Sushi just to name, is without one of Australia’s premier sires. In North America Art Major continues to dominate sire rankings with over 1100 individual winners.

Not that Art Major needs any introduction as a racehorse, for as well as him being a champion on the track his stats in the breeding barn speak for themselves.

In 2002 Art Major was harness racing's "3-Year-Old Colt Pacer of the Year" and leading money-winning Standardbred. In 2003 Art Major was "Older Pacing Horse of the Year," leading money-winning Standardbred and North American Season's Champion 4YO pacer (1:48.4).

Art Major is the richest performer by Brittany's legendary sire Artsplace, and much like his sire, he has proven to be as successful at stud as he was on the racetrack. His yearlings having been hot commodities in the auction ring year after year.

This year in Melbourne being no different, with his yearlings averaging in excess of $38,000

In Adelaide Art Major is represented by three lots; these being Lot 12, a colt offered by Shannon Nixon from the Dainty’s Daughter Classic winner Lincoln Beach Girl, a close relative of the recent WA Nights Of Thunder winner Ocean Ridge, Franco Totem (1:50) and Three Blind Mice (WA Derby).

By Lot 17 offered by Benstud is half-brother to last year’s sales topper out of the Rock N Roll Heaven mare Lastovo. This colt is Lastovo third foal, and is from the family Louvre a Group 1 winner as a two and three-year-old and Miss Hazel who won the NSW Oaks and Australian Breeders Crown champion at 3.                                                               Also, in this family is SA Derby winner and 2yo NSW Sires Stakes winner Renaissance Man now a successful sire standing in Western Australia.

The final Art Major entry is Lot 25, also offered by Victorian Shannon Nixon, is the first foal of The Stunning One (1:58.9), a winning half-sister to six winners including this season’s multiple Country Cups winner Phoenix Prince who has claimed the Geelong, Cranbourne and Shepperton Cups this season and  also the Tontine victor Goonly.
