Harness Racing Australia (HRA) extends its best wishes and gratitude to departing Harness Racing New Zealand Chief Executive (HRNZ), Mr Edward Rennell.

“First and foremost, Edward was a loyal supporter and advocate for his home jurisdiction of New Zealand, but he also understood the value of working cooperatively within the wider Australasia industry as well as further afield within the International Trotting Association”, HRA Chair, Mr Michael Taranto said.

“Far from a fair weather friend, Edward and HRNZ have provided cooperation and a calming influence on a plethora of important industry issues during his tenure, such as helping streamline bio-security protocols in the wake of EI and the various iterations of the Inter Dominion Championships among them and more recently cooperating on projects to the exchange data on an Australasian basis. Edward was also a long standing servant of the International Trotting Association, Chairing the infamously difficult Constitution Committee, which has illustrated his diplomatic powers at critical intervals”.

“On behalf of everyone at HRA, our Members and the wider industry, I’d like to thank Edward for all he has done and wish him, along with his wife Janice and daughters the very best in their next chapter”, Mr Taranto said.
