Im Themightyquinn - 2012 Australian Harness Horse of the Year

Following a stellar year which included a famous and emphatic home town Inter Dominion Championship sweep, Im Themightyquinn NZ (Washington VC USA - Love Sign (NZ)), was today announced the 2012 Australian Harness Horse of the Year.

The gelding raced just 13 times during the 2011/12 season, saluting 9 times, 7 of them at Group level including the Mount Eden Sprint, Western Australian Cup, Fremantle Cup, three Inter Dominion Heats and Inter Dominion Grand Final - amassing $1,250,060 in stakemoney along the way.
Trained by Gary Hall Snr., driven by Gary Hall Jnr., and owned by Beth Richardson, Glen Moore, Gary Ralston, Mark Congerton, Joe Barber, Henry McManus and Karen Hall, Im Themightyquinn's lifetime statistics now reflect his greatness with 84 starts for 39 wins, 27 placings and stakes of $3,293,106.
Im Themightyquinn NZ was also retrospectively awarded the 2011 Australian Harness Horse of the Year honour following the disqualification of Smoken Up NZ from the 2011 Inter Dominion - deeming him ineligible to win the 2011 award under the strict Harness Racing Australia (HRA) criteria.
The HRA Australian Horse of the Year Awards are voted upon by over 60 judges including media and administrators spread across the country. The Awards were expanded in 2012 to include separate awards for both Pacer and Trotter of the Year, taken out by Im Themightyquinn NZ and I Can Doosit NZ respectively.
The full list of Australian Horse of the Year winners and their performances across all categories is attached:
            Lawn Derby Awards - Pacers
            Vancleve Awards - Trotters
