First season reinsman Ken Rogers scored his most important success to date taking out the 2010 G.O (Graeme) Silke Plate at Globe Derby Park on Saturday night.

Rogers was licensed by Harness Racing SA in September last year and was one of 10 under 25 reinsman selected by the controlling body to contest the feature event.

Driving Jacks On The Rocks for Jon Kingston-Mayne, Rogers gave the front runner a perfect steer from gate one and won by more than 18 metres. It was Rogers third Saturday night win at Globe Derby Park and the sixth driving win of his career.  A 3yo by Bad Bert, Jacks On The Rocks has been an outstanding young competitor for Kingston-Mayne with six wins and five placings from just 13 starts. Matthew Smith, SA’s 2010 Australasian Young Driver representative finished second on the Shane Young trained Sir Jon with Only McCool with Tony Calabria up for the Claire Goble stable six metres away in third place.

Jacks On The Rocks raced as the $2.20 favourite and recorded a career best 1:58.8 mile rate for the 1800 metres.
