During his time at Channel 7 he developed the Station as a major producer of Drama, in addition to establishing the association which continues today with the AFL, Tennis Australia, The Australian Masters Gold Tournament and the Australian Olympic Committee. He developed "World Of Sport" which was to run for 30 years, and "TV Ringside" which produced two World and four Commonwealth Champions.

During his broadcasting career his international assignments included numerous World Title Fights and ten Olympic Games.

During his time at Channel 7 he served on the Board of the Federation of Australian Commercial Television Stations, including three terms as Chairman.

In 1984 he was awarded an MBE for services to Sports Journalism, and in 1989 was made a Member Of The Order of Australia for services to Sport.

Now a Media Consultant and Company Director he is also Chairman of the North Melbourne Football Club, a member of the Board of Harness Racing Victoria, Mornington Racing Club Committee Member, Chairman of the Victorian Boxing and Martial Arts Control Board and a Board Member of the Victorian Health Promotion Foundation, chairing its Sports Sponsorship Committee.

He was named 1999 "Victorian Of The Year"
