2011 Australian Harness Horse of the Year**
Smoken Up NZ, the fastest pacer
in Australia, has been named the 2011 Australian Harness Horse of the Year.
During the 2010/2011 season, the
dynamo raced in Australia 13 times for 9 wins and 2 placings and amassed
stakes of $547,151 and set an Australasian record mile rate of 1:48.5 in
winning the Group One Len Smith Mile at Tabcorp Park, Menangle in April.
Other Australian Group One success was achieved in the Miracle Mile and
South Australian Cup.
Smoken Up NZ has now raced a
total of 95 times for 50 wins and 32 placings and stakes in excess of $2.3
million since he started racing in 2006.
