HRNSW Board Member and NSWHRC President Rex Horne will chair the Sub-Committee
At the most recent HRNSW Board Meeting it was resolved to form an Infrastructure Strategy Sub-committee which will be chaired by HRNSW Board Member and NSWHRC President Rex Horne.
In keeping with the HRNSW Strategic Plan (2010-13) the Sub-committee is responsible for investigating the feasibility of new tracks on Greenfields Sites and/or upgrading tracks at their current location.
The primary focus is Bathurst, the Riverina and Penrith.
HRNSW CEO Sam Nati said: “While it is logical to assume that Wagga would be the preferred place for a 1000 metre track in the Riverina because of its population base and centrality, there are a number of other options.”
“We have set aside $5 million for the Riverina project so the price of the land we need to purchase will have a significant impact on our final decision.”
“At this point we are slightly further advanced with discussions regarding the proposed Bathurst development, but there is still considerable research to be done which is why this Sub-committee has been formed.”
“Like the Riverina, we have committed $5 million for capital investment in Bathurst.
